There have been some good suggestions here, but I think one of the biggest changes should be to get the players off the wacky weed. How can you expect the Rasheed Wallaces and the rest of the pot heads to learn anything in practice when they've probably been taking bong hits in the car on the way to the game.

I think another improvement would be to expand the minor league/development system, rather than allow the high schoolers and college freshmen and sophomores to go to the end of the NBA benches. Obviously a lot of these guys don't want to go to college so set up a baseball like minor league.

    yo yo yo

-make the refs start calling damn carries and traveling every once in a while
-make the refs call fouls on the stars too
-int'l lane, as someone already suggested
-call more damn fouls, it's too rough down low sometimes. the international game is much more pleasing asthetically
-defensive 3 seconds? get rid of it
-they have to do something about the age of players, my suggestion is to set up something similar to baseball and that is if you go to college you HAVE to stay at least 2 years. you can come out of high school if you like. this would kill 2 birds w/one stone by helping out the college game too.
-along the same lines of my last suggestion, set up a minor league for the nba. they already have the nbdl but none of those teams are actually affiliated w/an nba team. every nba team should have a minor league team affiliated w/it and they should scrap the ir list. just allow 12 active players on both teams and that's IT.
-and finally(and most importantly), stern and co have to get serious about their law-breaking players. the nba's image has been tarnished maybe to the point where the damage is now irreparable but they need to at least TRY to clean the nba's image up. rasheed wallace should be outta there, sprewell should be gone, they need to toughen up because it's killing the league.
