    First - I'm stoked we're winning. But Imma ramble.

    But I have a feeling we just won oursleves out of a shot at Palmer or Leftwich.

    I wouldn't want to trade up. We'll still be top 10 likely, and I don't want to give up other picks we badly need.

    Biggest needs, IMO:

    1) QB - Nobody on the roster is someone I want to be the starter for next year.

    2) WR - Anybody notice Smith was a total non-factor yesterday? He'd be an awesome #3.

    3/4) CB - This one is still big. I think both our guys are good, and if we get another legitimate starter, we'll have great depth. On another note, how about Grant's play on that flea flicker?

    4/3) RB - Dee Brown looked good. I think Foster is done, but he'll likely stay on the roster. I'm not thrilled about Dee as the feature back, but I'll have to see how he does the next 4 games. He might be a great surprise. That would be BIG.

    5) OT - Tuten actually played well. Who was he blocking? Still a need. It doesn't look like Jeno James has done much to impress this staff, either.

    6) TE - Walls is old. Maybe he can stick another year. He's made some fantastic catches this year, even if only a few.

    OK - QB - I think we're stuck with FA. It'll be VERY interesting to see what happens here. This is the position that has to change, IMHO. I don't think Peete can get us to the playoffs. I don't think Weinke will be in the NFL next year. I don't think there are any rookies I'd want as STARTERS other than Leftwich and Palmer, and even then we'd be in for a long season.

    I don't think the front office wants another long season. A rookie QB, a Rookie starting WR, and Dee Brown at RB doesn't seem like an offensive improvement for next year. But, I don't really want to speculate until we know draft position. Our track record with 1st round offensive skill positions is a big fat ZERO percent success rate.

    Anybody think Navies will be re-signed? What about Nesbit?

    Is Vinny Testaverde in our future? He and Henning have a past.

    I don't care, he still can't tackle, which a safety should be able to do.

    I hope not, he's older than Steve DeBerg.

    Add Rodgers to your list of who the win knocked us out of a chance to draft.

    Wp says we're slotted 6th at the moment which means we'll get knocked out of the top three offensive players in the draft (Leftwich, Palmer, Rodgers). It'd be a tough slot to pick from valuewise for skill players on Offense unless Manning comes out and totally skews the QB situation. I don't think he's totally ready, but the name will make some one jump on him early. 6th is too early to jump on a weak OT class also.

    We may go defense at DT or CB or simply trade down 3-6 slots where we can draft Ragone (even though he's shown me nothing in the 2-3 games I've watched him) at a cheaper cap number. McGahee or Johnson would work for me if we went RB should the QB or WR we want isn't there. RB can also be addressed later in the draft with quality guys such as Sapp, Brown from Colorado (a little slow, but can move the pile. Think of him as Lamar without the drinking problem), or Suggs who may fall due to his knee injury history.

    say we pick around #7.

    OK, FA. QB, Tackle, WR. Resign Navies and Nesbit.

    Draft day 1, WR, QB, RT who can play guard as well.

    Draft day 2: A back, DT, a FB, depth. Maybe another reciever in here late.

    Corner, sadly, waits another year.

    I say we trade down if we are at 7.

    Culpepper sounds good for our 7th.

    Yeah.

    Also -

    We could try to snag Peerless Price.
    We could sign an FA QB - Shaun King being my favorite available.
    We could draft Woolfolk (CB), Macgahee (RB), Johnson (RB), Kwame Harris (OT), Roy Williams (WR), or some other Offensive guy in the lower half of the top 10.

    CB and DT just doesn't seem to be nearly the need as QB, RB, WR, and even OT.

    It sucks, how badly we need a QB, 2 great ones seem to be there, and we'll miss them. Oh well.

    OK.

    Cinci=Leftwitch
    Texans= Rodgers
    Chicago=Palmer
    Minn= Joseph
    Detroit= Woolfolk

    If we are at 6, we have our choice of Roy Williams, McGahee, and Andre Johnson. Throw in Manning, and I like the choices here.

    trouble is we could easly slip further in the order. i think they will take their chances on Foster and not draft a RB early (unless they are getting bad reports by draft day -- then RB would become the priority -- i'm gonna be optimistic and think Foster will come back). QB and WR are clearly our most pressing needs. i'm with Meat that my gut is that they will look for a FA QB, just hope it's someone we can all get somewhat excited about. if we make a big splash in FA, it will be here. probably will keep Peete and Fasani as backups. Despite woes of offense, think JDR will be given a pick on the first day and will look to get a CB or strong safety. WR in round 1 even if it's a reach ... have to address lack of offense weapons. Round 2 and 3 will go for best available outa WR, OL, CB, SS, TE, FB. Rounds 4/5 will address whats not addressed on first day with O'Brien given a pick somewhere in here (maybe a RB that can also play special teams) and JDR may get another pick in here. Think FB will be high priority and will pick by at least the 4th if not addressed in FA.

    No further than 10 or 11, likely 5 to 8. 6 and 10 at best, me thinks.

    I'd like to agree. Not sure though. Readings aren't good so far. Just have a bad feeling. And again, I don't think we are to the point where we can start reaching for positions with an impact player in our lap, be it round 1 or two, just because we drafted Foster last year. We really need to make sure that the 3 first day players we draft are solid.

    >>QB and WR are clearly our most pressing needs.
    Clearly.

    >>i'm with Meat that my gut is that they will look for a FA QB

    We will have to. I don't think Peete will be back. Fasani needs to spend time in NFLEUROPE, we can evaluate him better. Not sure who that FA will be, or how big of a splash we can make. Getting Interceptestaverde would make getting Krydell look good. I'm starting to think either would be better than Jake the Fake.

    >>Despite woes of offense, think JDR will be given a pick on the first day and will look to get a CB or strong safety.

    Corner, yeah, but they could easily let it slip. If Brad Banks (QB Iowa) is their in round 3, for example, I don't see us reaching in what looks to be a bad CB crop. Take the best player.

    >>WR in round 1 even if it's a reach

    Can't call Williams or Johnson reaches, and think one will be there. If not, that would suggest that either a QB or McGahee drops so we take one.

    Agree in theory with many of your other thoughts. I'd love to get Full back
