What to do with Terry?

Seriously. I know most of us would like to see him taken out back behind the wood shed, beaten, flogged, gang-raped, whatever. But seriously, what do you say will happen?

Chris Weinke got benched probably because he wasn't familiar enough with the playbook. Some beg to differ, but there are several threads debating that issue. I don't want to start another one here about CW.

But going by that mentality, does Fox bench Terry this week for two very sorry weeks of mental breakdowns? IMHO, I don't see how he can't. But who to sub in? Nesbit's out with a high ankle sprain. I'm assuming Jeno James started at LG, with Donnalley at RG. If that carries over to next week, was Terry so bad you risk putting in Tuten at RT? Or do you shift James out to RT and put Tuten in at LG, where he's been working this past week?

Personally, I think you start Tuten at RT, keep James at LG, and Boudreau gets to ream Terry a new one.

BTW, I also think Peete starts next week against Detriot, FWIW.

Peete earned the right to give another go. He was far from perfect, I just read an article from a Ravens writer who seemed to focus too much on his flaws. But he didn't make any mistakes, and took what the defense gave him early on.

As far as Terry is concerned, I like all the ideas you suggested.

It doesn't make sense to make a QB change at all right now. For one, none of Weinke's problems, depending on what you hear, want to hear, and what you're willing to believe, would have been solved. I don't think you evaluate it before the break.

Terry's our most able lineman of the alternatives - Tuten, Fletcher, James aren't really right tackles. Detroit has a strong DL.

So it'll be interesting to see if Fox is a man of his word or if he just wanted to can Weinke.

Weren't Fox' words "we will go with the player who gives us the best chance to win?" unfortunatly that still may be Terry at RT..

Two of Terry's penalties cost us to punt and killed 2 potential scores. If Fox said what he meant and meant what he said, Terry sits this one out, or at least doesn't play until his replacement does something worse.
If the opposite is true, Weinke is a goner.
It's that simple, all we can do is see what Fox decides to do...if anything!

Yeah, but Terry put a hit on Ray Lewis and then mocked him falling back. I laughed my ass off. That's enough for me to give him the start in week 2.

One GREAT block and a little shit talking doesn't out way the minimum 6 points he cost us.
That said, I think he is our best RT skill wise...but that's after the snap. It's the stupid shit he does before the snap that makes me want to see him benched or at least not starting.

    True True

but mental mistakes can be coached, as opposed to talent.....I hope

The funny things is, we're used to a lot more mistakes than that. If Terry's 3 mistakes is the worst of it, I can take it.

I'm sure those will not go unnoticed in practice and Fox will address the situation.......I hope

I guess benching him might be a bit reactionary. He should stay in the line-up, but if it should become a consistent problem, action needs to be taken.
