not when he's there, in the right spot, and the problem occurs near the ball. Him being out of position has repeatedly been because of what all of us have said - poor routes, poor footwork, getting beat for position, jumping for catchable balls. If you're in the spot, what happened at the LOS is meaningless.

You are correct 100% - the problem with him was there were multiple passing plays where he did not get off the line well and subsequently was not in that "spot"... thats all I think some of us meant by that statement.

agree completely with wp28. hayes has some great hands and was excellent on those deep sideline tosses. but other than that he just seemed to dissappear in the passing game. if he turns into a top flight receiver, i'm going to be shocked.

with that statement - "the problem with him" suggests that was his problem. i.e. this problem caused the other problems. They didn't and it's fairly well unrelated from the root problems described above, that actually affected him with the ball in the air, which (just as with the situation of him not being on the same page as the QB) is obviously a mental - cerebral problem rather than a physical one.

hence, therefore, my comment about his lack of completion on a route, which happened often... its "cerebral" but physically, he was a puss - I noticed shorter and lighter DBs pushing him around...

It's unrelated to getting jammed off the line, and happened no matter where the DB lined up.
