if there are no takers for a trade down a couple of spots, then the panthers have to draft jammer. have to. no other player is as nfl-ready as he is. nobody has to work on him -- or wait on him -- to become productive. and the position is a DIRE need. if the panthers want to be competing for a super bowl in a few years, then they need a lock-down corner. jammer is that guy. he's made plays. he's consistent. he's played at a big-time program. he's competed at the highest level. he's a winner.

    he's an absolute building block.

I'll take Peppers. Best player in the draft. Jammer is good, but give me the best athlete with the most upside and I'm happy.

rashard anderson had lots of upside, too. so did biakabutuka.

it's time to draft like the bucs did when they build their team -- take guys who are proven.

At this point, I'd be thrilled to death with either OR a trade down. I have a godo feeling that the powers that be have their heads on straight this time, so hopefully we can come out with one of the top draft classes and have some success on hte field.

    Jammer Please!!!

As long as DE and CB are addressed with our 1st two picks then I guess it doesn't matter as much what position is picked first. But I like Jammer a little more than Peppers, especially now with Anderson being out for the first half of the season. Harrington would be my 3rd choice but we might as well give Weinke his shot this year. If Weinke doesn't show great improvement, pick a QB in next year's draft which will be loaded with talent.

Again, Peppers is absolutely PROVEN. He had GREAT numbers at UNC. Trouble with Peppers is that everyone expects him to put up UNGODLY numbers because of all that talent. All he did was go out and dominate on a regular basis (numbers reflect that) and be a major impact player.

Remember that UNC also played one of the toughest schedules in the nation last year - so his numbers came against the best talent in the nation.

Please, stop the comments that Peppers didn't produce. He has the numbers to prove otherwise.

He is the best player available, and the Panthers should feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to add him.

I'd love to pick up more picks, but it had better be a bunch if the trade is going to happen.

Otherwise, I can't see how we'd go wrong with the other two.

  9. I have a hard time finding anything anyone has said negatively about Jammer. Consensus is he is a lock down corner, the player most ready for the NFL right now as Larry has said. I've been reading he is a sure thing, saying that in 5-8 years, because of his size, he could possibly even move to safety, like Ron Woodson. I think this franchise is in no position to gamble on upside. Last year, Morgan was a sure thing. Take the most sure thing out there this year. It also helps that the most sure thing is a position we need. The Panthers should go with Jammer.

I will be happy with either, but my gut tells me Peppers is the man.
