Id just like the thank Fred for equating my national beverage to sucking dick. Thank you very much for ruining my next pint.

Secondly, id like to say that yes, while Guinness is most certaintly a required taste (i puked up my first ever pint of the black stuff at the ripe old age of 10 or 11, i actually tried to make ice cubes out of it, guinness not the puke), it should never be drank from a pitcher. In fact most pubs in America dont even know how to pour a pint. Most of this stems from the fact that you dont serve Beer with a head on it. Seriously if you ever see someone scooping shit out of your pint, or puts a spoon anywhere near it, run away.

Its full of Iron and will make you shit like a coalminer. Its probably the reason we dont sell food in our pubs either. It'll drown your apetite.

I think Celt means "acquired" taste :D There are others out there that are dark but less harsh, maybe tastier. Matter of fact if you're getting Guinness in the can (hehe) they may stock Beamish Stout or Murphy's stout (their red is awesome). You might find some other Irish Stouts and porters there.
dark beer - hmm. Dark ale? Dark lager? remember the label?

worst hangover i ever had. Cousins wedding. Irish catholics. Two days heavy drinking of guinness draft. it was the tequila shot at the end that did me in.

I like to try different kinds of beer. Lately I've been into Belgian white beer. Specifically Scrimshaw. Harp is good too and the a scottish beer that I like that I can never remember the name of. McEwens or something like that.

Actually, i do prefere the Murphys myself, its less harsh and tastes a tad smoother.

I dont think they even serve Harp draft anymore in the pubs back home, its that unpopular. But i'll pick up a six-pack every now and then. Its actually great with a splash of Roses Lime in the summer months. Many women back home will add a splash of backcurrent (ribena) to their half pint of Guinness for flavor. ladies should never drink from a pint glass but times they are a changing (Add your own neanderthall growl here).
