What is wrong with Steve Smith?

He's got slick hands today.

 

I think he hates Weinke.

 

He's been watching Hankton too much.

 

Until he gets his mind off "making the "big" play" - he will always be that way.

I said in another thread, we need to channel his focus back to special teams and an occasional play on the offense. Last year I was all for him getting involved from a starting perspective.... It may be too soon....

 

You mean other than the swollen head, and the scorn for grunt work?

 

Nothing. he's just not that good. The ability to dance around and even to be an expert returner makes no promises as far as becoming a good receiver. I know Smith can make plays on the ball, but that's what a third or fourth guy does, not a starter. never have felt he was good enough to start and we shouldn't have let it come to this.

maybe he didn't get enough icy hot on his nuts this game.
