Objective to a Christian maybe...

 

Die as a christian when the athiests were right - you maybe miss out on some fun you could have had during your life but probably avoid some of the negative consequences associated with it.

Die as an athiest when christians were right - burn in hell for all eternity.

Which one is worse seems pretty objective.

 

THIS is what I'm talking about. You make it sound as if atheists are chaos-causing, looting, raping pillagers.

Your argument remains subjective because you still argue it as a Christian, again thinking that atheists are bad people, that there are "negative consequences" to being an atheist.

I'm curious Thelt, what are these negative consequences?

Why ask if you're going to do it anyway? Strikes me as rather arrogant.

Why not just say, "I'm going to pray for you" ?

 

The message of Jesus Christ, in the proverbial nutshell: We're all messed up. All of us. Not one person anywhere is any good. Just because we've done good things doesn't mean we're good people. Mother Teresa was mostly good, but not good enough on her own; Billy Graham will tell you himself that he isn't a good person, and is just as bad as the next guy, and in just as much need of what Jesus can do, as anyone. But the good thing is that God loves us anyway, and WANTS to wipe all our bad crap off our records, and make us just as if we had NEVER EVER messed up, in any way, shape or form. Jesus Christ is willing to forgive anyone of anything, any time. Yes, even the worst person imaginable. Don't point fingers at anyone else. Just let it be you and God, for just the next 5 minutes. Ask Jesus Christ to do in your heart, whatever He wants to do. It is this way, and this way alone, so that everyone who gets into Heaven, gets there the same way. Can you imagine what Heaven would be like if we could work our way? We'd have to listen to people brag on themselves, trying to "one-up" each other, for all eternity! People who are in Hell or who will eventually be there, will be there for only one reason: What they DIDN'T do.

You can't really bet on the general concept of christianity. There are many different doctrines of christianity. So if I had to pick, I would have to pick a specific one. If I pick the wrong one, I go to hell. If we expand that a little further there are even more different brands of religion. If I pick christianity and Islam is correct, I go to hell. I'm pretty sure that you think that your brand of religion is the correct one, but so does the people of other religions.

I hope you made the right choice.
