I wouldn't disagree with that. Sounds a lot like a book I read earlier this year -- Renovation of the Heart by Dallas Willard.

I think we're saying the same thing, just swapping the terms 'spirit' and 'soul'.

I used to think soul and spirit were the same, then after reading Heb 4:12(I think that's it), where it speaks of the word of God being sharper than any 2-edged sword able to divide soul and spirit, joints and marrow etc. and 1Thes. 5:23 where Paul prays that we be preserved blameless and whole in spirit, soul, and body at the coming of the Lord, I tried to figure out the difference. I've heard it said that we are a spirit, who has a soul, and lives in a body. It's helped alot in my understanding of scripture, but has also created more questions. The "heart" for instance. In some instances it seems to refer to our spirit and other times it seems to refer to our soul. And as I understand it, the heart refers to our soul and spirit combined. I've not heard of the book you mentioned but it sounds like it may be what I'm looking for. Thanks!
