I got to thinking about this when I was reading the responses to HB's thread about why people want to go to heaven. Reunion with loved ones who have died is a biggie for most folks, I think; & there's been some talk of one's relationship with God moving to a deeper level.

But what do you think you'll be DOING for eternity?

If heaven is truly heaven I will be sitting on a beach, drinking beer, smoking a cigarette, with a kitty on my lap while I am watching dolphins jumping in the ocean and all around me is everyone I care about enjoying the day too. (and everyone is happy and no one is fighting or getting on each others nerves which really makes it heaven)

I'm honestly not sure. I've heard several theories, some making more sense than others. But I haven't as of yet found anything close to a definitive answer.

Hmmmm, I think in heaven we will be worshiping God for eons & eons telling him how wonderful & mighty he is :) . . .

For various reasons, I do believe that we go on in another form after we die. The whole scientific thing about not being able to destroy matter, for instance. You can change its form, but it doesn't disappear.

Sounds like a great way to spend at least part of my time

I wouldn't be totally surprised if I somehow found out that was all there was to it. But of course if that's it, I'll never know

I'd be interested in the various theories & what you think of them, should you feel like sharing those . . .

Now that sounds eternally boring to me, to be honest. Reminds me of the episode of the original Star Trek when they encountered the ancient god Apollo. An eternity of just worshipping seems mighty pointless & empty. Wouldn't even God find that boring?

I tend to believe that human beings (& whoever designed us, if indeed we are designed) are meant to be creative & productive. I expect that to continue. I hope & expect to continue learning & being creative & productive, perhaps on gradually higher planes. There's a huge universe out there to explore, & we're still only scratching the surface here on earth

I think that the 'time' will be spent recovering from the life we've just had, working on the issues that we've had in this life and developing our soul and spiritual self. I believe that it will be an evolving process and one that includes a `life review' of this life, to see how we've done.

Sorry, not a very articulate answer tonight - but I hope that makes sense!.

Ashes to ashes, dust to dust. I think a nice quiet spot on the side of a NC mountain would be a good place to spend eternity. Just not in a wooden box with worms crawling all over me. There is no afterlife. Just as there was no beforelife.
