I can be on my wireless at home with no issues. Close the laptop - go to bed - next morning although it says I am connected with a strong signal I can't get explorer to go any where. Comes up with the blank can't connect page.

I ran the diagnostic through tools/options/repair thingy.......no help. I disconnected the wireless for a while - plugged it back in......no help. Rebooted the computer - nothing. Ran spyware etc - no help.

I gave up and shut it down and brought it into work. Plugged it into our internet here and it worked fine. About a week ago the same thing happened in reverse. It wouldn't work here on cable hook up but was fine once I got it home and went wireless.

I'd ask our network people in Mass. but its like talking to a wall.........any thoughts on what could be making this happen?

Sounds like a couple of things going on. I would, to start with, be in the practice of shutting down between work and home. At least that way you know you're starting with a fresh boot up without any complications coming from standby mode. See how that goes.

That I already do but I will leave it on at home all night - I just close the lid. Last night it was fine - this morning it wasn't.

When it happened at work it had been working fine till about 2 in the afternoon and then wouldn't go let explore come up. Shut it off - went home and the wireless came right up.

It just seems odd because it tells me I am connected - but it won't bring up explorer. Weird.........and it makes me sooooo frustrated when something like this happens for no logical reason (I'm an A type personality and I don't like this shit!)

    Oh ok, I misunderstood.

When you close the lid, does it go to standby?

And what is your home page?
