So how are Mike and Mike, Cowherd, Mad Dog Russo, NFL Radio on Sirius, even your boy Gary Williams doing in the past month? They haven't had anything to talk about either.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, that's not good . . . . Sounds like PRIMETIME's schtick wore out quicker than expected in Columbia & Charleston. But then again, maybe those markets only care about Gamecocks Sports and not the Panthers/Bobcats/ACC hoops-football/NASCAR . . . .

Packer talks about the Bobcats or the NBA?

He did have Roy Williams on this afternoon, which was actually a pretty good interview. This was ole Roy's first time on Primetime - he actually said he's never been invited on before. Packman said he didn't like to bother him.

    Now we're getting somewhere

The end is near and the shakeup we so desperately crave is upon us. The ratings slide is clear and undeniable proof that listeners are tuning out WFNZ (or whatever they call it now) in droves. I've converted to country music during drive times and I pick up Colin Cowherd or Mike Tirico whenever I can. As bad as the morning show is (and it is putrid) I think I am more turned off by Packer. He is lazy and it shows. The gulf between what he does and what a thoughtful sports radio personality does is so wide...and it's very frustrating. He is predictable and puts forth so little effort....resulting in a show that is B-O-R-I-N-G. I'm sure Johnny from Effingham loves Packer, but anyone who can be pulled from a haywagon and made into the defining aspect of a major drivetime sports radio show should be happy.

Soon we will get to try something new and hopefully fresh (not a retread). Radio is a business and the $$$ follow the ratings. When ratings crash then advertising dollars slide with it and the station can't command the volume of advertisers or the rates....when that happens, the suits have got to fix the problem.

I doubt Packer is going anywhere.

....hey, to each his own. I think Packer, QCB, and all the rest are entertaining.
Colin Cowherd is once in awhile funny but his constant rants lose me.
In Raleigh we get Dan Patrick at the same time as Colin. They both irritate me at times, but I'm sports crazy and like a little shake up in my day.
Also, Jim Rome might not be for everybody, but he's hands down the best at the afternoon/job time radio show to me.

Just ask Solarte, he used to work for 850 the Buzz, and at times it was good and many more times the local yocals just slam out sucked.
MS did a good job, and Adam has his times of entertaining, but in the end, these stations need sindicated help.

JMO, keep Packer on the air.
