    Thanks. :)

He said there are four popular antidepressants being prescribed right now, and Wellbutrin was the only one of the four that didn't cause weight gain. He said that with the other three, I was probably looking at an average of 20 lbs. I said, "No thanks, I don't think my knees could take another 20 pounds!" :thud:

How about an update Hasbeens? Does the Welbutrin seem to be helping?

I use Effexor. Works great. Been on it for 2 years and no side effects. I don't plan on going off of it unless Doc says I need to.

I am glad you have found something that seems to be working. I lost a good 15 pounds on a differnt anti depressant and gained it back when i came off of it. And yes, coming off was not a happy time. Emotionally I only wanted to kill someone for about a week but physically it was a bit difficult.

I just wanted to put this in here for any of you who are on anti depressants or considereing it. As you know I am in school for massage therapy. Part of that is oriental body work and my instructor is an accupuncturist. As part of class work he did accupuncture on me for my withdrawal symptoms and within a couple of days they were gone. It was amazing. He did tell me that there are lots of natural antidepressant that are offered in chinese medicine that do not cause the problems and side effects that tradition medicines do. if i ever needed to go on anything again, i would go see a good accupencturist first. i never want to go through withdrawal again. And this is just me talking but i do not want to take pills the rest of my life just to be happy......that is the one thing in life that should come naturally.:twocents:

That's what my oncologist put me on. It does work pretty damn good. Chemo seriously fucked with my mind. Effexor put me back on track.

It took some adjusting when my dosage got bumped to 300mg, but yeah -- so far I'm feeling much better than I did. The only side effect I'm having is some stomach cramping that seems to be diminishing with time. Hopefully that trend will continue.

Chemo did a number on my wife, too. I'll file that piece of info in the back of my mind so I'll know if she ever has to go back on it.

Lexapro 20 mgs. I went off for maybe 2 weeks, I wanted to kill a few dumbasses at work. Back on it for a week and the dumbasses don't bother me as much. Then again I sent 1 of them to nights leaving me on days. One of the 2 worked ;)

seeing this, i thought i would point out that there is a good story in this month's Runner's World about the effects of exercise (spefically running) on depression. i didn't see it online when i went to look for it so you might have to drop the 4 bucks for the actual magazine.

might be worth the read since you are trying to hit this from a couple of angles. good luck.
