Go ahead and close this one down. Your arguing with yourself again. We could be in a massive rain storm and you'd still try argue against me... at this point I think your lost in ...well trying to make a point.

Don't imply my life decisions are based on hoping I have a little luck. I've done pretty well, mainly because I took chances without fear of failure. Does not mean I don't like to fail, just means you accept the risk and go with what you feel is right.

I don't rightly care what you do in your personal life or how you handle yourself. But you took it there - and try not to go there again. I'm not certain what you were attempting to say but it had no bearing on this.

    >>We could be in a massive rain storm and you'd still try argue against me

uhh...okay. I know what you're trying to say, but you didn't actually come close to a coherent thought there. Actually, no, I wouldn't argue with you no matter what - I don't like to argue with you. You bring the argument to the table when you continue to push irrational statements and wonder why no one follows.

My point is you're pimping a QB you don't have the slightest idea of, just because you dislike the established starter. You don't deny this fact and yet you unabashedly do so anyway, calling it a "gut feeling" when it's just your reaction to not liking the starter. Fasani doesn't enter into it in the slightest.

  4. the GM for the Panthes was on the Page last week...I forgot what day. He hasn't acheived all of the incentives people think he has. Basically, just the number of starts and some other little things. The "escalators" go into effect (if I remember correctly) in the 4th year of his contract. Regardless, his contract is still dirt cheap for a starter and will be for the next couple of seasons. His shoulder is fine and the GM said they were 100% happy with his performance so far.

Do you try to be that arrogant? Or does it just come naturally?

Don't be so quick to say no one follows, I mean aside from a few of the board locals you have no idea who reads what, with what interpretation.

It comes naturally. You said something about arguing with me while in heavy rain? I got what you were looking to say, but that doesn't mean you were the least bit able to actually say it. It's a trend.

As far as the contract, he signed the contract. It was offered. There's no such thing as a negative incentive, other than the recent Bengals' action incentives.
Matter of fact, any other sort of negative incentive clause would be illegal.

    Well, just for the record....

I have supported Weinke since the day he was drafted. After the first pre-season game in which he played, I was ready to make Weinke the starter for the first game of the season. He played so well last year, and it's too bad people can not realize the full effort he put forth.

It's too easy to forget that he was thrown to wolves so to speak in an offense that was also new to him, and that he was a rookie, and that he had no running game support to speak of. I don't care what you think, but you can put a veteren Elway, Marino, Warner, or Favre into the same situation, and those numbers are not going see any great improvement.

Now we have a second year QB coming in. The new hope of a solid running game. An offensive scheme he is more accustomed too. A veteren QB to help him out. I'll say again that Weinke's numbers were very close and sometimes better than then rookie Aikman when they went 1-15 and had no running game, and he turned out to be an ok QB, to say the least.

Don't sell our QB situation short. Weinke is also a great leader and those guys will follow him to battle. We got a 4th round steal and we've got all the QB we need to make it work.

We all know that Sandman has NEVER EVER like ANY Q.B. that was in lst place with the Panthers. He always likes someone else.
    SaME WITH OTHER PLAAYERS.

Sorry Sandman you've lost your ability to antagonize us. We KNOW you are just trying to bait us.

An Old Coot who figured you out a LONG time ago.........

OK, but for me I'll be cool if he helps or contributes to the Carolina Panthers winning football games. I could give a rats ass what his stats or "numbers" are or if he ever makes a pro bowl. It be nice for him to and represent the Panthers... but the point is, there are some QBs in the league that know how not to lose. Yes I think in time, Winky can achieve this. I said earlier this summer and last year, that I think if he can ever get to the level of a "Trent Dilfer" type QB, he'll be fine, it might be boring, but he will be helping the team win football games and as a "fan" thats what I'd like to see.
