How could any coach possibly say those things about his QB unless Henning has gone to him and said " this guy can't do the things I want to do". I do not believe he would do that, considering that he took Joe T and Doug W to the show. They were not anything if not average.

I started a rumor that Jefff Lewis started this rumor cause thats all it is.

I now believe Henning did go to Fox and say Weinke is no good. If any team will give us a bus ticket for a 3 and out QB, I'd take it.

Ok, I don't want to see one freakin stat for Winky 2nite - he sucked! He proved he has no freakin clue what to do when his line is so so, at least with Fasani, we have a chance.

And if after 2nite, Peete is still the number 2, then fuck you Panther coaching staff! Looks like another bumb year as a Panther fan...

Oh yea, tonights game is a prime example of why the Panthers need a QB that knows what to do "out of the pocket".... :fire:

His line was so so? I thought the offensive line was pretty much worse than awful tonite. Terry called for the same penalty 3 times -- how can anyone be that big of a dumbass. He looks good in run blocking but in pass protection I think we was constantly in trouble. Donnally had another bad penalty. There was no running game and Weinke never had time. The Patriots blitzed us all nite. They showed no respect whatsoever for our ability to beat the blitz. I suspect teams will continue to show us a constant barrage of blitzes until we prove that we can make them pay, which right now I don't see us being able to do. We don't have the receivers. And Weinke doesn't seem to have the gumption to hang in there.

You could be right. Weinke looked horrible tonite along with the rest of the offense. At the end of the 3rd quarter he finally got a little pissed off and started making some things happen. Weinke needs to take note of Tom Brady who had a bad first half but the got his offense fired up in the second half. After he completed his passes in the second half he'd coming running down the field clapping his hands and getting his teammates excited. He had fire in his eyes. You (I) just never see that in Weinke. His performance tonite was very troubling.

So what the hell are you advocating? Peete as #1? or #3? I didn't think he looked that bad for his first quarter of play. Not saying that I would be against Fasani being promoted to #2. Just don't like your attitude. Our first bad game and against a very good football team and you're ready to fuck the coaching staff. How touching. I think that I'm beginning to understand why others on this board got tired of your QB rants. All you experts knew it was going to be a very tuff year and that everyone except a few of us naive casual optimists are expecting us to have a top 5 draft pick again next year. So what's your problem? Did you get your hopes up after we played Dallas close?

Or maybe why we might should consider taking a couple of stud OL early in the draft next year. I agree with Mag. We really don't want our QB running all around. There have been plenty of great QB's that really couldn't scramble well (e.g. Marino). I appreciate your emotion but wish you calm down and make intelligent observations rather than just ranting.

It is apparent to me that we have a good defense (much, much better than last year) although I think Cousins is really going to continue to hurt us at CB. But to shut down the NE and Dallas running games the way we have is pretty awesome. We were missing a big part of our pass rush tonite with the absence of Rucker and still did a very good job of rushing the passer. Peppers looks to be everything he was hyped to be. Very raw but still a huge force.

The offense ... well I thought going into the season the OL and WR were going to be huge problem areas for us. Based on tonite alone I was way wrong about Weinke who I thought would be decent. Hopefully, the Dallas game is more of what we will see from him.

Al Wallace for Jay Williams and a 4th. Thank-you Miami.

Montgomery looks to be the third string RB. He showed a little more of what I thought we would see but still haven't seem him run with the burst I expected. Did enjoy seeing him crush the one Patriot defender late in the game.

Witherspoon looked better to me tonite.

Praying Foster's injury is minor. L. Smith doesn't impress me much. Although with our OL, not sure that Payton would look worth a damn behind it.

    S. Smith dropped a ball to stop a drive for Weinke.

    Gilbert sucks.

    Stupid penalties all night again.

Morgan could go to the ProBowl this year.

Good God, this team was considering giving Terry an extention.

I just thought I'd mention that.

My #1 fear with Winky when we drafted him was that he was surrounded by greatness - players and coach(es). Not that Fox will not be good but he is a rookie HC. Winky had some of the best college football talent out there... not here.

Yes Brady showed why the Pats won a superbowl... Leadership is more than skill, is action oriented.

I just don't think Peete has the gas to go 4 qtrs of Football...

Line was straight up ass. Weinke responded in the way a young guy does. It's not encouraging, but all the same one man's bad play doesn't make the team's bad play. Last week the foolish talked of .500 ball and maybe playoffs - the way foolish always do after a good game. And then now that there's a convincing loss? Oh, well let's blame it on Weinke. The line, the Foster injury, the bad chicken I had, my headache, that's CW's fault.

    >> Line was straight up ass.

So what happened? It was only a few weeks ago that all the experts were saying that our OL was one of our strengths.

    >>Weinke responded in the way a young guy does.

uh, Weinke is not exactly a young guy. you think that's the way Farve would have responded after 18 starts? how about Tom Brady?

    >> It's not encouraging

yep. we agree on something. the man overhead answered my prayer for Foster, maybe he'll grant me another small miracle and Weinke will rebound and be at least a decent QB -- that's really all we need IMO -- average will do just fine

    >> Last week the foolish talked of .500 ball and maybe playoffs - the way foolish always do after a good game. And then now that there's a convincing loss?

to answer that question. still think there's a chance for us to go the the playoffs. what'd ya expect from the foolish.

    >> Oh, well let's blame it on Weinke. The line, the Foster injury, the bad chicken I had, my headache, that's CW's fault.

LMAO. Sorry, but after calling me foolish, I think it's just funny as hell that you have a headache.
