So your saying at this point Fox would rather put Dee Brown in at QB before he'd Peete back in there, so why not have the surgery?

I think Fox would like to have Peete available atleast for Atlanta, and no doubt Tampa the following week, who have been taking players out of the game this season. We're now 1 hit from starting 3rd string rookie Fasini with no back-up, and you think that's a choice?

Didn't Fox make a statement saying, basically, "we don't expect to get to the third QB"? I don't think Weinke will play stellar, but don't go worrying about a Jeff Lewis meltdown either. I don't think that it's down to a one game tryout, either. Not to take away from Fasani, but I'd be surprised to see him just thrown to the wolves - i.e. even if he comes in in relief I don't think we'd be expecting to start him the following week. Small steps.

You also have to take into account Peete's only signed for this year. Whether it's his game skills coming unravelled, Henning's horrendous play calling, or a combination of both, we simply couldn't keep the status quo. Weinke was going to get a lookat some point this year anyway. The injury and poor play by Peete simply moved things forward. As long as we're in the hunt so to speak, it'll be Peete or Weinke. We fall by the wayside, Fasani may get a series or a quarter later on. Things go South, we'll see enough of all three to make a determination on who stays next year and if we are going to take a QB in the top two rounds in next year's draft.

Well, I'm not going to think Fox would hesitate to just make Weinke the starter if that's what he wanted to do.

I also think he'd much rather have Peete active when he did decide to start another QB.

Like I said, the Bucs are taking people out and Weinke takes hits and gets banged up in Atlanta, that Buc DL can smell fear, and they are even more dangerous if they know your hurt.

For a QB that has a problem reading defenses, we are fucked in 2 weeks, and I doubt we'll beat Atlanta. Here's to 3-5. Lucky for us we can only lose once a week.

It's funny. Weinke got benched right before we played a 3-4 team. Now he's starting against a 3-4 team.

Let's hope no INT returned for TD.
