    Welcome, NC
Let's just hope it doesn't cause a controversy. All we need is some sort of internal strife to fuck up our year.

  3. Weinke looked just as good as Peete yesterday. I was shocked though when they said Weinke was QBing. I couldn't believe it until I saw Peete going back into the locker room. I knew then that something was wrong. At least we had a QB who had taken some reps. Peete could have gone down and the only QB we had could have been one who didn't have that many reps. (I'm glad I got to see Weinke play.)

As much as it scares me to say it - I was quite happy to see Weinke come in the game. I just have the feeling the offense can be more explosive with him in there. I pray he has learned the importance of turnovers impact on the game. I really want him to be the guy here for a while.

My fingers are crossed he can keep the job a while with good consistent play.

    >> more explosive

the implication there is that it was explosive, which of course is laughable. possibly Weinke will help us to put up more points but i doubt this offensive will ever be explosive this year. good enough to win ... possibly. he did look like he had settled down from preseason and made some good passes and no poor decisions ... other that the last completion of the game. but i don't think he completed a pass to his left, again. that to me is worrisome. otherwise, he was solid but nothing to get excited about. at best, i don't think we will see much if any improvement in our offense with him in the game, at worst he starts to suck again. if things do go bad, his fans will point to his lack of weapons and dropped balls and penalties. if things go really well, i will be pleasantly surprised. but it is a good that he is getting this shot, hopefully it will answer some questions and he will be the man. i just don't think it's gonna happen.

it wasn't explosive, but it certainly was "more explosive". Music can get louder without being necessarily "loud". Weinke's offense went for 2.5 times the first downs despite them running the ball twice on third down, given the same number of plays. He had the same completion percentage and more yards per completion/yards per attempt. He targeted Muhsin more than Smith as well.

The least you could expect out of him was to not look scared. He didn't look scared. The best you could expect is that we score a TD behind him. We didn't. No excuses, but we don't score a TD a half anyway. So he went in between, he did what he had to do and a little more. Now we need more.

Either way, yes, it was time to see him again and see whether he is or isn't. I don't believe it necessarily even means he'll be cut in the offseason if he struggles, but I don't think he'd make it past camp if so.

It's all moot now. Weinke is the starter. With Peete out, Fasani will be number 2. Could we see him some in relief, or in the red zone where the Winkster has seemed to struggle ??

Velly interlesting !! A mostly new team playing this week. Should be VELLY INTERLESTING !!

    :p :D

An interesting idea. Henning could get creative putting Fasani as a H-back. It wouldn’t happen this week, and with Peete being out, don’t know if we want to risk our backup on a trick play.

Henning would never do anything nearly that creative. Hell he used up two trick plays this year already.

If Fasani comes in and lights a spark, bravo. I think they'll be reluctant to go to him with his lack of experience so far, but I think he'd do good - initially. It's hard to say if he'd have nearly as much success with somebody gameplanning him and blitzing him more, and whether or not he'd be allowed to make his risky style of play with this whole scared, complacent to be on the field for the time being type offense.

How bad would Wienke have to play for fasani to get some reps? Say Weinke plays decent but say we still drop the next 3 games. Do we start looking towards getting Fasani some playing time?
I dont think I will be very happy if Wienke or Peete is our starting QB next year.
