Weinke Contract Question

All of you capologist tell me something. "If" we deside that Weinke doesn't have a future here has he triggered most of his expensive clauses in his contract last year so that cutting him would kill us? Or are they year to year type clauses such that we wouldn't be liable. What would be the dead cap hit with him off the teams roster nest year

 

His payout bonus so far was $500k. Two years of that five years have accrued. To cut him would cost $300,000 and his salary will be over that.

Come to think of it, the last three years were in fact fairly strong years. Yeah, okay, he's not worth $3 million next year. Guess he's out.

yeah, that contract was the worst possible for both sides. I didn't like it then and can't stand it now. The incentives had nothing at all to do with having played well. Now he's going to be cut loose next year because he's earned his incentives doing nothing but starting.

 

well that's ok he's a don strock kind of guy, he'll end up somewhere like atlanta behind a gun and come off the bench and pull out a few games a year and save a season on a regular basis for some talented club. It's not going to be here though.
