With all the early exits to the NBA, it looks like all the teams in the ACC (besides Duke) will be having a down year. God, I hope we don't send three teams to the tournament. Heels get lucky having to rebuild during a year where most of the teams are going to have to go through the same thing.

Yeah, not sure the ACC as a whole will be top 5 or 6 overall.

The ACC will be just fine.

dook & BC should be really good. Clemson will play everyone tough - they just have to learn how to win. State won't suck. And I really think that the Heels will suprise some people.

While I agree with all of this, just not sure it will be enough to keep the ACC even in the top 3 conferences for next year.

after this past year, when the ACC was as strong top to bottom as I can remember, it will definitely be a letdown. at least nationally in terms of being the best conference. but even a down year in the ACC, the quality of play will still be better than watching most other conferences. who knows what happens this year. in the past 5 yrs, UNC, Duke, Maryland national champs, and GT played for one. maybe someone surprises this year.

I think the upcoming year may well be remembered as the worst top to bottom season in many, many years. No great teams in the league just a couple of good ones and the rest stuck in rebuilding mode. Two to three years from now I think we'll be back as the premier conference. But the 2005-2006 season will be one to suffer through...

Duke has a legitimate shot at going 16-0 in the ACC like they did in 1999. Hope that they end the season a little differently than those guys did though

And the Herb Sendek-led Wolfpack from NC State are setting there sights high, aiming for third or fourth, amongst the wild cries for a lifetime contract extention for Sendek.

considering they have finished 2nd and 3rd 2 of the last 3 years, that isn't a stretch. And if Herb keeps us there then hes all right with me.
