UNC's victory over DePaul last night had NOTHING to do with the officials. Anybody who brings that up is just biased against UNC and bias is bias anyway you slice it. Anybody who has ever played the game or coached the game knows first hand how effective the press can be on an opponent. If the point guard or whoever has the ball at that time cant make the plays its THEIR FAULT. Its easy to cry foul when you are being overwhelmed by the press and you cant break it. Doherty has taken a beating for not making the right moves at times during games this season. He did something right last night and it worked, give him credit where credit is due. To say that money (fan bnase) is a determining factor in who gets the calls and who doesnt is laughable as well. Grow up.

Had to get tickets either monday or tuesday. Tickets werent sent out to season ticket holders and therefore had to be picked up at the will call. It was general admission. Considering 3000 showed at Tenn (arena seats more than the dome). About 5000-6000 at Iowa. 10000 plus doesnt seem all that bad now does it?

Maybe you shouldn't talk about things you don't know a lot about. Or better yet, read what Doherty and the players had to say about the crowd.

"It was the best crowd I've ever been associated with," McCants said.

Exactly my point. The real UNC fans came to the game. NA's earlier posts were saying the officiating was biased. I won't say that.

But what he was trying to say is that the NIT is a money maker for those in New York only, not to showcase basketball as it once was. Why else would you have a Eastern Washington/Montana matchup with UNC? If you don't think the bracket is a bit stacked in the Heels' favor there, something is wrong.

Their bracket was set up for a Georgetown-North Carolina game. The same thing is true in the lower bracket with a Temple/BC winner potentially playing Seton Hall.

On the other side, a good Boston U/St John's game with the winner taking on Virginia for a NYC trip against they were probably hoping Villanova, but now will be non-powerhouse team. There also was an outside possibility of a BC/BU title game.

The lower bracket sets up a potential Iowa-Iowa State game (a natural $$$ game) and that winner to play Ohio State (if they beat Ga Tech). And the NIT committee of course would love to get Texas Tech in the bottom there to fill out the card.

Look at the pairings for the NIT and see if you don't agree. They are looking to get one, if not 2 New England teams in and one, if not 2 national teams. They'd love have the sound of a Georgetown/UNC-Texas Tech game but would be happy to take a BC/Seton Hall-St Johns game too.
