We're one of the only high majors that do it that way Norman. But as you probably know, that contract ends soon.

It's a legacy from that "fucktard" Mike Slive, who almost ruined the conference.

Banikowsky (sp?) has said he'll consider all options once the current contract is up. I had suggested someplace centrally located like Nashville, but we'll see.

CUSA fans dont travel as well because it's just so far to travel. I wouldnt mind booting the Texas teams out just because of that. They don't add much anyway.

That is about fanbase too Norman, not football. Im convinced.

Unless you equate the two, which some do.

Our fanbase is medium, with an upward trend. We're gonna have to get large before we'll get the respect we deserve.

Don't make me blush! I understand part of your point, but I don't think it's the refs or the committee once the teams are selected. I would venture to guess if you had two teams equal on paper, then I would think they would look at which team has more money potential as far as inviting them to the NIT.

I wouldn't be opposed to UNCC in the ACC, even if they started a football program, I would love to have them there for basketball.

But on the same note if the ACC does expand, personally I would like to see some basketball/football schools get in that have strong football programs. That was the major reason Florida St. was accepted into the conference.

I don't agree with what I'm about to say, but as far as the ACC and the world is concerned, there is only one UNC and it ain't in Charlotte.

CUSA wants a big guarantee to host a tournament. Birmingham hosted a few years back and it was a financial disaster for the arena. That's why it's been held in Cincy and Louisville so often, they can guarantee enough ticket sales locally to push it a long. Charlotte fans would purchase 3000 tickets and ECU might bring in 200, if they qualifyied in the CUSA's top 12.

BTW, a small fan base school you left out earlier in the NIT finals... Wake Forest.

And let's talk about fan bases for a moment.... only something like 10000 fans in the DeanDome for a men's game last night, at a "low" price of $15 per ticket. That's fan support for sure and a vote of confidence in Doherty.
