What fruits are ok in moderation on Adkins? I thought they were taboo? Day 2 on South Beath. First phase is essentially Adkins.

    Pears
    Cherries
    Strawberries
    Raspberries
    Blueberries
    Rhubarb
Canteloupe and other melons (except watermelon--watermelon's Glycemic Index is too high, If I remember correctly)
    Citrus fruits
    Bananas
    Plums
    Dried Plums
    Apricots
    Pomegranates

    Among others.

Damn last year when I was on Adkins I craved Pears. That and I don't eat them often as I don't like the texture. So on SB I can eat those in phase 2 rt?

During the induction phase on Atkins, which is pretty much what I stayed on for most of the year, only some fruits are allowed. With the next phases, you start adding more fruits and veggies. With the weight I want to lose, I need to stay as low carb as I can get and with the amount of carbs you have to count for such a little amount of fruit, it's not worth eating in my opinion.

That's what I got from the first part of the South Beach book I've been reading. Basically the body getting rid of the sugar in the body.

I am trying some lo carb bbq sauce tonight. Wasn't half bad. 3 Tbs on 4 chops. 9 gms of carbs. I was pleasently surprised I didn't gain significant weight on cruise. I specifically waited until 3 days after to weight myself and I was withing .5 lbs of pre cruise weight. Still clothes feel way too tight. I want to drop 25 by The Green Bay game. Hang in the Coops.

i've gave up preaching about the hazards of this no-carb crap. congrats to all who are losing weight, and hopefully 10 or 20 years from now you will still be healthy.
