Damn Larry, when I met you you looked to be around 180 at best. What did you do eat a Hatian family? The cruise killed me. I had lost maybe 15 pounds. I am back on South Beach

I'm looking into doing South Beach instead of Atkins. One of the teachers I work with let me borrow the book this weekend and it looks good so far. Now I just need to get motivated to start it.

    P.S. Congrats Larry! :applause:

    I agree. gg Larry.

Coop, you should do what you feel is best for you. I was on Atkins for almost a year, and dropped from around 430-440 to 310 before I switched to South Beach (because my creatinine levels had started to creep up--I've had kidney stones before, so I was getting regular blood work done to make sure that my kidneys could deal with the increased protein intake). I can't complain either way. :)

I've been having lab work done every 3-4 months so the Doctor isn't as worried like he was when he first found out I was doing Atkins. I really want to go down another 60 in the next year, but don't want to feel "stuck" and in a rut like I sometimes did with Atkins. Since it's summer, I've been craving fruit bad and pretty much on Atkins it's the no no. I've got some things to work out with some medication I'm on, then I'm going to hit it hard.

Congrats Acid Queen on losing that much weight! I know the biggest thing for me was dropping the weight fast at first - I needed the immediate results. Now that I know I have done 60, I know I can do the next 60 with not as much in the immediate results way.

Actually, you can have fresh fruit on Atkins--there are simply certain kinds of fruit that aren't allowed because of their high Glycemic Index.
