Had nothing to do with Weinke. Having a rah rah guy out ther would not have eliminated the errors other players made.

The QB can't catch the ball.

And make no mistake, we beat ourselves. The defense made dumb plays, bad play calls, dropped passes, and penalties.

Hell Sandy, Carter is faster than Fasani. He didn't make plays with his legs. We let him make plays with his arm. Let him.

so, you're basing on emotion now? Well hell, steve smith jumps up and spins the football even if he loses 8 yards on a play. With that logic, smith should have been catching everything and turning small gains into touchdowns.

I guess thats where we differ. You guys have followed football long enough. And a few of you I have told, know more about the Xs and Os than I do.

But what some of you fail to either understand or admit is that the right emotion and attitude on the field by a leader, be it a QB, or whatever. Experts that get paid, note this every Sunday with one game or the other.

Dallas won today because they got emotional they took "Mo" and held it.

To correct any misunderstanding, NO, I do not think Winky lost the game for us I just don't think there was much he can/could do to help us win it either.

I don't think this offensive unit will surround him with warmth and love...

There's a lot of successful stoic guys. Rich Gannon.

I agree emotion plays a part. But again, having that rah rah guy doesn't make Steve Smith catch the ball, doesn't make false starts not happen, and doesn't help play calling.

    That's why we lost.

That last false start killed us. 10 more seconds, and we have a shot at a 49 yarder.

Weinke didn't fuck up. he did as well as he could have given the situation and probably better than I expected him to play, and yet you're ragging him. Stand up, anyone, if this is surprising.

He was over 50%, not bad at all for an off the bench performance, he had a lot more yards/completion than in preseason, and pushed the ball downfield more. The only times he had three and outs we ran the ball on third down.

He had a better game than Peete.

And yes, you're talking out your ass. You're saying that he "probably had another throwing option" and then say "but I wasn't there". So because you don't like somebody, that automatically means two guys are getting open that haven't been open all day?

Uhh, okay. Right. Nice Ace Ventura impression.

Whether Weinke or Peete starts, the offense sucks. Smith's barely getting the ball, the other Smith's showing to be a third rate receiver, Hoover's not getting carries and the chains aren't moving.

Randy Fasani doesn't enter into this at all. It was said from day one of this move that Fasani is third string, and until he beats somebody out, he's third string. It's that simple and ends there.

Four penalties overall and overall poor play at guard for Tuten. Why?

I did not say he fucked up. I said, he is not going to make plays. You can sit on stats all day long, but as us Panther fans know all too well... nevermind.

If you read the initial paragraph, the point I was ragging is that we are not going to get from Peete or Winky what we needed today. I do not know if we could get it with Fasani. I just think the chances are better that we would.

You can rally the troops all you want with your "stand up" comment. At the end of the day, we are all posting here on TBR, I don't think any of us are making house payments with our football insight. Thats why I wish folks would keep it just to football talk. I'm here bashing something I think is wrong with the team... not you or any other person posting here.

I'm comfortable with my opinion....

Old Coot, hope you are doing well. Thanks but no thanks. In regards to Panther QBs and my opinion on their success. I am batting .500 in the NFL, probably about 75%. My approach may not be text book, it may not be what bookworms need to hear, but the results of my thoughts on QBs are there. I've got an eye for it.
