    You don't want to have surgery if you can get well naturually. Surgery usually inflicts permanent damage with risks of much more. The only thing I can think is they thought it would be OK without it. Something is hurt last year, it seems to be responding well to rest, its tested, and they find out things weren't so good after all. If everyone had surgery, just in case, on every problem, there would be about 10 times as many surgeries as there are now, I bet.

    Fine, but why both knees? That's the part that puzzles me.
