Meredith Broadcasting (which owns stations in the GSP, Nashville and Atlanta markets) in the past has expressed interest in selling these stations. Infact WHNS about 2 years ago came close to being sold to the same company that at the time owned WIS TV in Columbia SC, but the sale didn't happen.

The thing I find interesting is that one of the stations that will be directly affected by the merger of UPN and WB will be WBSC (Sinclair owned station). Both the owned Sinclair stations in the Asheville-GSP markets are big money-makers for Sinclair, and I think Sinclair will do just about anything to keep WBSC from going independent or going under. So, I wouldn't totally shocked if Sinclair tries to make a deal and go after the rights for FOX in the GSP market, that is if they don't get the rights to the new CW network.

I thought CBS owned UPN and Warner Brothers owned WB.
