Like I said, I may be wrong, but for some reason I have it in my head that you are not supposed to do too much exercise during the beginning of the diet (2 weeks I think) when you are seriously cutting out most all carbs.

Franchise, the Atkins book mentions excercise all throughout it. He strongly urges you incorporate an excercise routine into your plan. As far as the induction period, i'm not sure, i couldn't find anywhere that it said not too but my brother who is on it said he read not to excercise the first three days which i understand that cause you go through withdrawls that you are not going to want to excercise those days.

    This just in...

There are studies out there (and no I don't have a link) done on bottled water that suggest that normal tap water in MOST US cities is even CLEANER than bottled water.

Don't buy bottled water unless it for convenience and you're gonna refill the bottles with tap water. You throwing a lot of $$ down the drain.

You should just buy a filter.

:xyzthumbs Good book with good advice.

I'm reposting a link I posted before that I got from his website. It wasn't written by him, but the article is very well written and is a good tool for anyone wanting to lose weight and tighten up those loose areas. Very good read, in my humble opinion.

I have seen that. The problem with that is they don't do those test everyday or evey week or... Its not a difficult thing for tap water to get contaminated. Yea, I'm paranoid in regards to that.

But as far as I'm concerned, if it keeps me from buying cases of soft drinks then I'm not throwing money away... I look at the folks in line at the g store and think they are throwing money away when I see them purchase soft drinks...

i use to buy bottled water all the time. Stemmed back from when i was i college and hundreds of people got sick from drinking the water.

It did get expensive though when i started thinking about how much money i was spending every year. So, i just purchased a $30 filter to attach to my faucett. Think it's cheaper in the long run.

Your probably right... like I said, its a mental thing for me - it goes along with the old addage that you tend to value more that which you pay for versus what is free.

The only thing with the filters is most people don't change them out as they should. Water going through a 1 year old filter can get pretty bad...

I drink water and the occasional tea or coke anyway unless I'm "drinking" drinking. I don't remember the last time I bought a soda.
