So you can only be a star player if you are on a winning team?

I guess it depends on how you define "second tier". They are not in that Kobe or Lebron class but they are both very good players.

IMO, the staff working at the arena are helpful and polite. One of the few parts to the Bobcats Johnson got right.

I have never been to a game so I have no idea what the staff are like. I just meant it would not surprise me if Johnson hired using the affirmative action model. I could really care less though if he does that. If the staff are friendly and competent then they can all be Umpa Lumpas. I just want to see a good coach on the bench.

Shoot enough, and anybody can fill up a stat sheet. Jason Richardson was option 3 on a mediocre Golden State team.
Both are good role players. Neither are stars.

Golden State missed the playoffs this year.

The racism part does not bother me. Maybe no whites applied. I think Richardson is a fine player. The team has done well on the court for an expansion team. I like to watch them play, even when they lose. But why would they post profits on Forbes for the first three years and claim they lost 50 million dollars? Doesn't make sense. Attendance went down from 05-06 to 06-07, but receipts went up as the team wasn't giving away freebies anymore. In 05-06, sometimes 6000 fans would get in free. Where does this dude get his numbers from?

Not just anybody can shoot enough and fill up a stat sheet, did you happen to see Taylor King play this year?

Besides, J Rich made the 5th most three pointers in NBA history this year. People really should stop trying to downplay his talent. We're not a good enough team where a J Rich and a Wallace can carry us, but they are definitely second tier near All-Star quality. With a healthy May/Morrison/lottery pick next year, there's no reason (other than coach) that we can't compete for the playoffs, potentially even home court advantage in round one.

Good grief, don't you guys ever get tired of making absurd predictions only to see the Bobcats fall short and embarrass you year after year? Yes, it's possible that Charlotte could compete for a playoff spot, but even bringing up being one of the top 4 seeds makes you look like Thelt. It's also worth noting that Richardson is only a career 36.3% three point shooter over his career, so it's not like he's a good one, he just jacks up a ton of them. He's still a pretty good player, as is Wallace, but neither guy is a star. If the Bobcats could have gotten Howard instead of Okafor or Paul instead of Felton, that would be enough, but they didn't.

For once I have to agree with Collin, unless Charlotte pulls off a transaction where they get a huge difference maker like Boston w/ KG and Ray Allen, home court advantage is a pipe dream.

That being said, even despite underachieving this year, they were only 5 games out of the playoffs.

You stick a semi-competent coach in there that wont continually sabotage your PG and get them to play defense, the playoffs are certainly within reach.
