Was Terry Fair a gift?

This guy looks like a very good football player. Lacks size but has great speed and is explosive as a punt returner as well. He can really cover and is a fiesty competitor. If we drafted a CB from rounds 2 on you would hope he could turn out to be as talented as Fair.

IMO, he could be a huge gift for the Panthers and become a real impact CB with us in time.

Why in the hell did Detriot let this guy go? He was a first rounder! Hurt or not, can't believe you let go of a guy with this kinda talent that early in his career. (only 5 yrs exp)

Does anyone have any background on what happen there?

Are we just lucky as hell on this one because he looks like a freak'n gift from god right now.

 

Personality conflict, basically. He's always been a bit of a primma donna. Team doctors cleared him to play, he wanted another week. So they cut him. The upshot is he's now playing for a contract.

He is a good cover corner. Good reactions. He's just small.

 

There is more to it than that...most of what I know is rumors. Morningwood is doing him a favor by saying things like "some factors will be held secret by this organization." I'd imagine those "factors" would not be to Fair's liking if made public (drug use).

Another factor, he was in the last year of his contract and they most likely wouldn't have resigned him anyways. He was beat out by rookie Chris Cash and they felt that Andre Goodman (South Carolina) will develop into their two "bookends" of the future.

Millen has done a lot of weird shit since he's been there....

That's all we need, another side show freak! Fair has had attitude problems in the past, and some injuries to boot. Hopefully, all that is behind him...but I wouldn't bet on it.
On the field, his skills are top notch! The only corner we have that is better than a nickle back.
