    Dunn or Alstott?

and that 32 led the bucs in rushing

This is an easy way to compare Dunn and Alstott going game by game to compare individual stats. In Alstott's defense for example, his 4 yards rushing game was on 1 carry, 15 yds on 3 carries, 24 yds on 3 carries, 12 yards on 5 carries and 48 yds on 8 carries, and he had 2 yds on 4 carries in a game Dunn had 12 yards on 8 carries. In that game the Bucs as a team had only 19 yds total rushing. Also in that game Dunn had 138 yds recieving, but Alstott had a TD. He still had 680 total rushing for the season and 10 td's. There were only 2 games in which both played that I would prefer Warrick's stats over Alstott's, and they weren't overwhelming. IMHO, I would take Alstott ove Dunn anyday of the week and 30 times on Sunday. Last year the Bucs started the season with Dunn as the feature back, but as the season wore on, and games became more crucial, Alstott got more playing time. Lucky for Dungy, the Colts have James and he can't tinker with that offence.

Y2, the fact is they have both had some time in the spotlight over their careers. Both have had some ups and downs, Dunn's ups to me have been a little more consistent. Two years ago it was Alstott who came in the top guy, and he frigged it up.

    Alstott's career numbers:

    RUSHING RECEIVING FUMBLES
ATT YDS AVG LNG TD REC YDS AVG LNG TD FUM LST
    1025 3982 3.9 47 40 185 1450 7.8 29 10 25 0

    Dunn's career numbers

    RUSHING RECEIVING FUMBLES
ATT YDS AVG LNG TD REC YDS AVG LNG TD FUM LST
    1070 4200 3.9 76 17 259 2374 9.2 68 9 11 0

Looking at those numbers, the only difference between the two is Dunn is a better receiver, and fumbles a lot less. Then, of course, you have to consider that Dunn has two 1,000 yard seasons (2000 and 1998), while Alstott has none.
Neither are a feature, but between the two, ADV DUNN.

Using Dunn in a Faulk role (run hard against average Ds, misdirect a lot, draw a lot) and in the passing game would be the best way to go. I don't think he fits here with what we want to do all that well, but I do think he can be successful somewhere, more so than he was.

I beleive Dunn can take the beating.

They said because of size that Emmit smith and Barry Sanders could not take the beatings.

    Well they did.:D
