I've got a wireless router upstairs and want to put another one downstairs so my xbox can have access to my computer. I've got another wireless router that I dont use that can be set up an access point. Can I configure it to connect to my upstairs router or should just quit being cheap and buy the xobx wirelss adapter?

How much of a drop off would you lose on the XBox going wireless. XBoxLive has a hard enough time staying up without configuring wireless into it

None, but I've yet to find a XBOX wireless router that would work with MAC Address filter. The box has a MAC address on it, but I'll be damned if that works when entered.

I actually use a Linksys WET11 bridge that I bought before their XBox adapter came out on the market. It was a bitch to reconfigure, because you had to completely reverse its function.

It did, however, work fine. I used to pwn bitches in Castle Wolfenstein (multiplayer fps game), with no noticeable wireless lag.

for a $30 USB plug, I wouldn't go through the trouble...

then again, splitting your cable right at the DVR connection for your router could cause other issues...

ahh just drop some cat 5, that's free
