speaking of which, most everything that was shown on the DVD of the cutting room floor stuff, was just as good as the movie that made it.

It said in the credits that it was based on Cash's autobiography. I didn't realize all those legends were on tour together. And I didn't realize Waylon Jennings was ever such a freakin' hippie, man.

As drugged out musician movies go, this one was pretty tame. Reese Witherspoon in no way deserved an oscar. (But then neither did "Crash" ) Anyways... It was an OK ho hum movie that made me want to dig out my 'the Doors' dvd. But it did make me download some Johnny Cash/June Carter stuff though and surprisingly they made some decent music together.

Around the time this movie came out, I heard a Cash biographer talking about the Folsom recording. He had found that the part where Cash sings "just to watch him die" and the prisoners all cheer was spliced in for effect. In the original recording, there was no reaction.

Good movie, but I came away feeling like I just saw a "good movie" not a "good Johnny Cash Movie"
