    We suck.

Our defensive line is better. I can say that. Jenkins looks better, he's a keeper. Peppers, other than keeping his emotions in check, had another solid game, some pressures, and a sack. Gilbert looks tired. Funny, he barely played in camp.

    Morgan and Fields were active.

That's about it for the good news.

    Our corners suck.

That's the worst our offensive line has played since 2000. Far too many penalties, far too many 15 yard penalties. All of them dumb. No protection. No run blocking. I'm sorry, not Fasani, not Farve, not McNabb would have won that game with that bad protection.

    Not that Weinke played well.

The Pat corners were doing a good job of pressing, and Weinke just looked confused by the defense, and just dumbed down and threw safe passes. When he had time, that is. But he was off, regardless. Can't play scared.

Wheras the Dallas defense lacks size, and therby we can get a running game going, it seems the bigger, more physical defenses we have trouble with. Can't wait to play Tampa.

I hope Foster is ok. That's just the worst bit. If he goes down for the season, well, that's a killer for the franchise. The stock is fairly empty as it is.

I guess there is one bit of good news.

The Pats are the world champs. Now we see how far we have to go.

Good solid recap... too bad you don't have more time for this stuff, your maturity and insight should make you moderator for football.

Anyway... so do we have to go 1-15 again before people realize, Winky is a guy waiting for the wagon? He can throw a crisp ball, but he does not excite players or fans....

I'm the least mature married 29 year old I know. Proud of it to. :)

I'm not about to go and call for a QBs head after one preseason bad game vs the World Champs. Particuarly after he just had a very good game. Wins will excite fans, and I don't mobility really excites players. Plays do. He didn't play well. Too much short, too hesitent. Calling that performance b-line like is insulting, and not to Weinke.

So no, we'll never see eye to eye there. It's just not accurate.

But he had help in sucking all the way around. As I said, line sucked. The Pats have real, real good corners, and I suspect there may not have been much there. No running lanes at all. And he was pressured. So it was hardly a "perfect" offense.

They beat us up, and if remember correctly, they did it last year too.

Offensively, the whole team gets an F. Moose made the only play all game.

Another good thing about this game may be to illustrate that Sean Gilbert's abilities have gone down. Bad knees are just a symtem of that.

See what I mean... 9 times out of ten you have the maturity to disagree with people others don't. You are factual and don't focus on putting people down - this is good. Its cool that you are young at heart and for this board, 29 may be middle aged.

As far as Bline... you guys still have a good chance to rub my face in it this year... if not this year, then he goes down as a career loser.

You are correct... too soon to throw in the towel with Winky... I liked it tonight when the Panther paid announcers said Moose was the first to greet Winky after his Int... no surprise, Moose has always stood tall for his starting QB...

I don't think we suck as a team. We sucked tonite on offense against a very good football team. Very worrisome how totally ineffective we were on offense.

Jenkins and Peppers both had very strong games despite missing the other half of the starting defensive line. Peppers continues to flash brilliance. Gilbert sucks. Al Wallace (and a 4th) looks to have been a steal.

Morgan was awesome. Linebackers were very good as a group. Minter and Grant played well. Didn't notice Howard which indicates to me that he was effective. Cousins just looks like a problem to me. Taylor also looked bad.

Moose had an excellent game with three big gains and no dropped balls. Smith had a bad game. Byrd reappeared. Desparately need a big-time receiver to compliment the group we have.

    well said.

a voice of reason? on this board? surely not

Is it just me or did Weinke seem to focus in on one reciever rather than going through his progressions? Walls usually shows up more when a Panthers qb reads through his progressions.

Again, I didn't see the game, but the talk last year about NE Def was teams seem to just "have bad games" against them, never reallly giving credit to NE confusing the shit out of you and making you look bad because they are that good.

Not to say you're not giving NE credit, but NE has a great Def, and it's just they're style to make you look bad.

We may not look so good offensively in week 1 either. I caught Denny Green and Billicheck on the AM dial one morning talking about "preparation". The Ravens are excited about playing their last preseason game on a Thursday, giving them extra days to prepare for the Panthers. While Ray Lewis doesn't have many vets around him, they have a high energy group of guys that will pressure us as well.

One more tune-up game, and we'll start the season with Smith at RB. I'm afraid that Fox's "run" minded game plan may cause him to pass too little. Without Foster, we're stronger at WR, certainly Henning will play to our strength.

Ok, I have had time to calm down. New England played some pretty tuff defense. I don't think our play calling was great, or even average. Run up into the middle, pass into the flat ...

I'll try to be more patient, but I'm an emotional get in your face kind of fan.

But your right, he did just focus on one guy and did not seem to be on target as much. Moose had a nice reverse run, but it looked like he ran out of steam, not good for your top WR.

I hope Foster heals quickly. Have they totally removed Dee Brown from the RB rotation?

True about the New England D. They the tops dogs.

They made the Rams look pretty bad.

2 things to be hopeful about, after being miserable for 11 hours:

    The 1st half defense.
    Let's hope Foster is dan-dee.
