Villanova takes a hit against Heels

It;s funnier how our path keeps getting easier yet it was the most difficult bracket. You just never know. Washington now has the most difficult road and they were in the easiest bracket. And that's why they play the game. :bananalam

 

I was thinking the same thing. I didn't really think UNC would have a hard time against a full strength Nova team. The Heels are playing great basketball and I for one would like to see an UNC/Duke final four matchup.

 

It ought to be a great game if Duke and Carolina do meet. I think Duke has gotten the better of both earlier matchups and only lost at the dean dome because they choked a bit. Problems at point guard hurt us. On the other hand Carolina seems to be playing some if its best basketball of the season right now. I would hate to be on the losing end of that game that is for sure. It could be many years before a game like that came up again.

 

I honestly could not stomach another loss to dook, much less in the final four. However, a win would be a freaking magical experience.

 

Showing my igorance here, but have the Heels and Duke ever met in the Final Four, let alone the NCAA Tournament??? I know there have been several times when they were set to meet but one of the two have always lost and it never happened.

 

They never have met in the tourney that I know of.

 

The only ACC team ( that was a member of the conference at the time) Carolina has played in the NCAA tourney is Virginia back during the Ralph Sampson years. They did play Fla. St. in the tourney but Fla. St. was not a comference member at the time.
