EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) -- Tight end Jim Kleinsasser, one of the Minnesota Vikings' top passing targets, will be out 2-to-4 weeks with a broken bone in his leg. ADVERTISEMENT

Kleinsasser, second on the team with 11 receptions and 114 yards, broke his shin bone below the knee on Sunday. He still managed six catches and 56 yards in an overtime loss to Buffalo.

Defensive tackle Talance Sawyer, who was taken off the field Sunday on a cart with knee and ankle injuries, will miss 2-to-4 weeks with a broken bone in his knee.

    News
The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports Vikings left tackle Lewis Kelly returned to the team today and is expected to start this week against the Panthers. The league had granted the Vikings a roster exemption after Kelly's wife Rakiva died along with their unborn child on August 25.

Hopefully Kelly is doing better and is ready to play. We wish him the best.

    Vikings: Offer made to Anderson

    News
The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports the Vikings have made a contract offer to kicker Gary Anderson and he is expected to accept it. The team elected not to re-sign Anderson back in April because he doesn't kick off well. However, he was contacted this morning after Doug Brien missed two PATs and a field goal yesterday. The team will likely keep Brien for kickoff duties.

Fantasy players should drop Brien if they haven't already done so. Anderson is the game's all-time leading scorer and has an accurate leg, but he's not very reliable beyond 40 yards any more. Those in leagues that give bonuses for distance on field goals should pass on him.
