Bored today. We gots lots of these guys.

Williams could go, but we'll be hurting if Pepp or Ruck gets hurt.

We have 9 DE's on the roster:

    67 Ford, Lonnie DE 6-2 255 23 R Southern California
    64 Rasmussen, Kemp DE 6-3 255 22 R Indiana
    96 Williams, Jay DE 6-3 280 30 7 Wake Forest
    93 Rucker, Micheal DE 6-5 258 27 4 Nebraska
    71 Benoit, Jermaine DE 6-3 270 26 1 Central Florida
    90 Peppers, Julius DE 6-6 283 22 R North Carolina
    92 Cecere, Mike DE 6-2 279 24 1 Delaware
    97 Ray, Bryan DE 6-3 272 24 1 Wake Forest
    91 Milem, John DE 6-7 290 26 3 Lenoir-Rhyne

Couldn't find anything on Rasmussen, but Ford runs a 4.8 40. Both are smallish, but are the ONLY ROOKIES WE GRABBED. That's consistent with signing smaller fast guys.

    DT:

    95 Leroy, Emarlos DT 6-1 313 26 2 Georgia
    79 Tate, Darian DT 6-3 288 22 R Walsh
    99 Buckner, Brentson DT 6-2 305 30 9 Clemson
    77 Jenkins, Kris DT 6-4 315 22 2 Maryland
    94 Gilbert, Sean DT 6-5 318 32 10 Pittsburgh
    68 Marriott, Jeff DT 6-4 294 25 1 Missouri
    59 Coleman, Ben DT 6-5 300 22 R Florida A&M
    98 Burton, Shane DL 6-6 305 28 7 Tennessee

I found nothing on the 2 rookies. IMO, we're good here, with Jenk, Burton, Buckner, and Giblet. I think all of these guys will get axed. We sure keep hanging on to Giblet, don't we?

    WR:

11 on the roster. 4 undrafteds, one got the $20k *Tolhurst*. This is definitely competition for a spot. FWIW, I thought Bright looked great. He's liable to snap like Jim Turner, but he stayed healthy in the Arenas.

    87 Muhammad, Muhsin WR 6-2 217 29 7 Michigan State
    83 Jeffers, Patrick WR 6-3 218 29 7 Virginia
    88 Hankton, Karl WR 6-2 202 31 4 Trinity (IL) College
    3 Tolhurst, Ryan WR 5-11 193 22 R Richmond
    6 Harris, Terrell WR 5-11 191 22 R Tulane
    19 Gary, Guilian WR 6-0 183 21 R Maryland
    18 Black, Nathan WR 6-0 190 23 R Northwestern State (LA)
    89 Smith, Steve WR 5-9 179 23 2 Utah
    82 Byrd, Isaac WR 6-1 188 27 6 Kansas
    17 Baker, Tim WR 6-4 208 24 1 Texas Tech
    81 Bright, Anthony WR 6-1 170 25 1 Valencia (FL) CC

I wonder if we'll see any 4 receiver sets like we saw with Seifert?

Weinke in the gun - empty backfield, Moose, Jeffers, Bird, Walls, and Smith? Unfortunately, that doesn't get me excited at all.

somebody's gotta emerge from there. I imagine it's Ford.

Well, Milem is more of a base side project anyway, so if a guy like Ford steps up, all the better.

Who is Bryan Ray? Wake Forest guy? Anyone know anything about him?

Did a search on Karim Grant. He was listed as LB / Safety on one site, his agent's site has him as a DE.

    BUT - he weighs 246# and runs a 4.65.

Hmmmmm. All our undrafted rook DE's under 260- and fast. Here's the article:

Karim Grant, a top prospect from Canada posted impressive numbers at a regional combine Sunday. Grant, a 1st Team All-Canada selection at DE last year at Acadia University, tipped the scales at a lean 246 pounds while standing 6'4'1/2. He ran the forty in 4.65, while posting a short shuttle time of 4.22 and completing 20 reps on the bench. Karim's abilities and workouts have the New York Jets, Buffalo Bills, and San Diego Chargers among others expressing interest.

Grant, a native of Scorborough, Ontario is considered by many scouts to be the top Canadian prospect for the 2002 NFL Draft. Grant spent four years playing for the Axemen of Acadia University in Nova Scotia, Canada. He played in all 32 games over his four years at Acadia, starting 20 of them. Grant was selected as All-Conference for the 1999, 2000, and 2001 seasons after being among the team and conference leaders in both tackles and sacks.

I could have sworn Ray was a linebacker.
