UNC-Wilmington football?

    My daughter said they had a forum earlier this week on football at UNC-Wilmington. Basically they said it would be at least five years before they could start, even if they had the money to do it. Apparently money is the big hold-up. One administrator said there were projects still short on funding and at that point a booster stood up and said he thought boosters were not aware of the shortfall for those projects.

    Wouldn't it be funny if UNCW got a football team before UNCC?

    BTW- I went to UNCW for my 1st semester my freshman year... Back in 93 that place was a shit hole. I drove through the campus for the first time in 10 years last fall and didn't recognize the place.

    The campus at UNCW is probably three times the size of UNCC's. Not that matters cuz UNCC could just play at BofA Stadium. But there is definitely room to build roads and a stadium with no problem.


    We could draw massive crowds and recruits here. All it would take is a tour of campus and any horny high skool jock would sign on the spot. I've always wondered why Hawaii doesn't dominate every sport.

    The problem with starting a football program is all the Title IX considerations.

    I'm saying that a college has to pay for the startup of a football program and also for the equivalent in women's sports.
