UNC vs. Duke (What could've been this year)

If it means another national championship at year's end I could cope.

 

Quoted for truth. As a Duke fan I don't want another f'in Sweet Sixteen, and as a college bball fan I know anything more than a Final Four takes talent (which we have) and luck (we'll see). We've ALL seen a lot of talented teams choke in the FF, if Duke does it this year it won't be the first or last time we choke away a title.

But like I said, UNC has been known to do the same thing, so, you guys can't really talk.

UK fans can talk. They hardly ever lose in the FF.

two things here.

1. Is it me, or do carowhina fans already have excuses for failures this year, or if duke wins it all. I"m guessing it'll be that everyone left carolina, right?

2. I'm not one to blame officiating too much because i know duke gets calls that other teams (THIS DOES NOT INCLUDE UNC) might not get. But, the sad thing about the game in the dumb dome last year was that it was so very obvious that ( i can't even remember what his name is, i can picture him though) the unc player was trying to foul daniel ewing at the end of the game when one of the steals occured. Missing calls sucks, but missing blatant attempts to stop the clock fouls is just terrible.


this being said, duke better be in the final four this year. If coach K wins another title this year how much more of a legacy will he have over dean smith then?

 

1. No excuses, just facts! UNC has no pressure on them like dook does this year. Didn't see your arse much at the end of last year when UNC won it all, but now you show up. HOW CLASSIC FOR SOME DOOK FANS.

2. You are right, dook never gets calls in any of the UNC games, it's just all of the others, right? It couldn't be that dook got a call in a game they lost to UNC.

Just because I was "happy" that UNC was again UNC doesn't mean I expected UNC fans to cheer for Duke.

I didn't pull for them to win, but I wasn't crushed like I was in 93. Guess I've grown up since then. Hopefully when Duke wins it all again this year some UNC fans will have some class about it all, but I'm not expecting it by any stretch.

 

Yes you were here during the good or bad. The some was really directed at the dook fans that dissappeared when dook went into the slump when Shav returned and of course when UNC made it's run.

It was amazing at the dook fans talking trash on this board when UNC was 8-20. OF course I know UNC picked up some this year as well.

and yes - dook is a frequent march choker - almost every season they are picked for the final four or Number one ranked during the season and most years they choke against an inferior team

and I know choking in March since UNC showed dook how to do it years ago

 

i posted quite a bit during tourney time last year. what the hell did you want me to say? I could have sit here and whined like you guys did about officiating when duke beat arizona. Tell ya what, i'll be here next march after unc plays it last ncaa tourney game.
