far exceeded all expectations. Helluva run for those kids this year. UNC fans oughta be proud of what they accomplished, when no one expected anything more than a basketball season of discontent.

They go into next season as the team to beat in the ACC, IMO.

I said on TBR that we'd win 20 and make the tournament, but they still exceeded my expectations by beating Duke on Senior Night and crushing State twice.

Gotta agree, I thought 12 wins would be good, and 18 at best. There is no way in hell I thought they would of wrapped up 2nd place in the ACC this past year and have 20+ wins.

A lot of good things from this team this year.

    1) Noel was the team leader which we thought he would be and more being a walkon.

    2) TH did more than we could have ever asked for considering he was a freshman and the only inside option.

    3) Terry stepped up with a very nice overall game. Main weaknesses, even though a junior, his lack of experience showed in his decision making at times, like todays game with shot selection.

    4) Frasor played as well as he could at the point, but he isn't a PG.

    5) Miller did more than I thought he ever would, but was lucky to play on this team with no real SG option.

    6) Green was the only other freshman that I think progressed a lot during the season.

    7) Ginyard, hoped he would have done a little more. Not bad, but not good.

    8) Sanders, did better than years past, but damn glad he is gone.

    9) QT, at least he did get a little better as the season went on and could give a few minutes relief.

Provided that we don't lose anybody other than the seniors and the class coming in next year this should be a very good team. Hopefully Lawson can step right in and be a true PG and the Freshman big guys can step right in as well.

    Great year!

I agree. UNC overachieved this year, big time. 2nd place in the ACC? Win at Duke? I didn't see either of those things happening. I thought NIT at best, 14 wins at worst, but Hansbrough was better than advertised most of the year.

He should have Memphis at #1 for next year. If no one leaves early, they only lose Carney and their sophomores and freshmen are straight up nasty. Ohio State is going to be incredible to. UNC had the easiest road to the Elite 8 and they blew it. Better season than expected but Hansbrough got shut down in the second half. I mean, freakin George Mason...hahahahhaha

I only got to see a few minutes of the first half. Had to listen to the second half in the car. Sounded pretty brutal.

Settling for outside shots and getting out hustled all game long, way too many turnovers and some pretty shitty defense.

It was painful to listen to so I'm glad I didn't have to watch it. Sounded like Terry picked a bad day to have one of his "don't give a shit" games. Been awhile since I've seen a player with his kind of talent just waste it so many games. If next years freshman class bust their ass for Roy in practice then Terry may spend his senior season coming off the bench.

Oh well - tempting to praise them for over acheiving (and Roy did one helluva job getting this team this far) but they had a final eight berth set up nicely and they blew it. Hate to see them go out with a shitty effort.

Next year they will have a big ol bullseye on their back - they better get ready for it.
