    anybody else watch the game?

I watched it late last night - had to see how the new Heels look. First it was very strange watching this team with no Felton,May,McCants,Williams,Manuel and Scott; it just didn't look right seeing all the new guys playing so many minutes.

I know it was just UCSB but I was impressed watching the Heels play. They really get after it on defense. Wes Miller,Bobby Frasor, Marcus Ginyard, Noel - those are all great on the ball defenders and they push out every play.

Hansbrough is very good - still raw on his offensive moves, but he runs the court, has good hands and is tough under the boards. He will be a first team all american, maybe as soon as his sophomore year.

Frasor looks fast running the point - felt much better when he was in there instead of Thomas. I was also impressed by Wes Miller. If he can keep playing D like that and make his threes he will get alot of minutes.

It's obvious they are green and make too many turnovers pushing the break 90 mph but overall they seem to thrive on the chaos. They look like the kind of team that can beat anybody on their schedule or lose to them by 25.

Big tests with Illinois and Kentucky coming up.

Roy is going to have his hands full next year blending these talented freshmen in with next year's group.

:trophy: i watch some of the game yesterday .Maybe it just me but i think that Wes Miller. could be like Scott someone that come and hit big 3 when the heels need to make one.You know if the Heels can play the way they play defense yestrday. They can win 20games this year.I don't the Heels are that bad of a team as everyone think we are.I think we should beat Illinois on tue it a home game.we should win the game by 10.

Agreed with a lot of what you said there. It will be interesting to see how we do against a good team.

I am glad the freshman have been able to step in right away and be good. TH to this point looks the best of any ACC freshman, which we need. Green, Ginyard and Frasor have all done really good as well. Copeland has been ok in limited minutes, hope once he gets healthy that he can do a little more.

I am very surprised to see 9-11 players getting in there and getting a lot of minutes.

I think that Frasor is a good player, but he runs (and walks) like he's wearing high heels. He looks like one of those kids that walks through gravel trying to kick up rocks. It's real weird. I think UNC is ok, but it helped that UCSB might have been the worst rebounding team ever. I still think that they'll be 8-2 after ten games with losses to Illinois and Kentucky, but they could do a lot better in the ACC than people think cause apparently Wake is not near as good as people think. I could hear the UNC fans grimace every time Byron Sanders touched the ball. He hasn't improved at all, and shouldn't even play in this UNC lineup. Did Wes Miller go to South Meck? I remember seeing him somewhere and thinking he would be a good player in high school. even though Duke's rotation with Nelson is only an 8 man rotation it makes me feel better that Boateng and Boykin can come in and play if things get too bad. I'd put anyone in before Byron Sanders touches the ball. Hansbrough won't be an All-American after next year. He won't get near the touches with Brandon Wright and all the other top recruits coming in. He might be a better player but his numbers won't show it. If Illinois loses to this UNC team by 10 I will never post on these boards ever again. Illinois should win by ten, even though they barely beat Wichita State.

UNC hasn't played anyone yet really for me to be excited or not. I think win or lose Illinois and Kentucky will be good measuring sticks. Even if they lose to those two teams it'll give a better idea of how good or bad they are.

I never said I was excited - I just like they way they played defense and hustled. It's still going to be a long season

The freshmen are doing better than I thought they would at this point. I mean shit, they have a ton of pressure on them and they have done good thus far.
