UNC might not have a good atmosphere, but they have a much much better program historically than the Gamecocks. Gamecocks have won one conference title back in the day. The biggest win they have had in the last 35 years was an Outback bowl win over Ohio State and are the face of mediocrity. South Carolina is where old coaches go to die.

Kenan is a beautiful place to watch a football game. Seen many games there back in the Brown days while I was dating that witch. The atmoshphere leading up to the FSU game that year was amazing. That's what college football is all about.

Ask Julius Peppers why he wouldn't do anything for Bunting and UNC football when they were in Charlotte for the bowl, but he does everything asked for the basketball team

Funny you mentioned that. It's not just other conferences raiding NC talent.

Move to ACC helps Virginia Tech recruit North Carolina hard

Historically? Sure...but recruits only know of the last several years. They know USC has sold out EVERY game for 7+ years. NO individual tix...ALL season tix. Minimum donation is now $3500 to ALLOW you to buy tix. 83,000 where 95,000+ show up to tailgate...HOURS before kickoff. It's a different world. I've been to UNC games. They just don't compare. There is no fan support.

Yeah...I almost edited my post to mention VTech. I also know Spurrier wanted to play UNC every year in BofA Stadium for a Carolinas Showdown....UNC refused. Spurrier had, stupidly, commented that this would help him get even more talent from NC.

Yes, that's true and literally speaking they have had a coach come to die there (Morrison)....BUT....the Gamecock fans are like Cub's fans; loyal and enthusiastic. They certainly deserve better than they have received. As a player you could not ask for a better atmosphere and with Spurrier they could not have a better chance to succeed. Why? Because I'm a Gamecock fan and I "Gotta Believe"..plus...I can wait til next year :)
