Why has that loss become such a huge deal? Did anyone think they were going to be a great team? They could still put together a good year. It's like the Sendek/mediocrity thing times 2.

Because it was Rutgers and the mighty Tar Heels shouldn't lose to Rutgers, even in ping pong. Seriously though, it was just the first game, maybe the Heels should turn it around. Probably not going to be this Satruday though, according to all the VA Tech fans I work with. They kinda remind me of NC State fans, just with a better football team.

Has it? I haven't been listening to talk radio, so I wouldn't know. In any case, it's mostly because fans are #1) stupid (not knowing that Rutgers isn't supposed to suck), #2) unrealistic (Carolina's big years under Brown will never happen again), and #3) petty (it makes "fans" feel better to bitch and blame someone).

I dont buy that one. I think Carolina will be good again...just not with Bunting.

Carolina has already been "good" under Bunting. Beating Miami and going 6-5 two years ago against the toughest schedule in the country was "good" in my opinion. What we probably won't ever again is a top 5 team like we were briefly under Brown. Top 25, sure, but not top 5.

Why not? We did it once and we have better facilities now.

Anyway, I'd settle for consistent top 25 with the odd top 5-10 year thrown in ever 4-5 years.
