UNC will only be mediocre as long as Bunting is there. What's sad is almost every UNC fan is content with that.

Is it? UNC is 4-4 right now and people are actually happy, and if they make a bowl then it's a party on Franklin street. They have improved over the last couple of years, and are actually competitive, but Bunting sucks. Here's hoping for another Continental Tire Bowl bid

Jackass. You probably grew up a State fan and only switched to Georgia (and Duke in basketball) because you wanted to cheer for a winner. Christ, how can people not call you on being a "diehard" fan for two completely different universities in the sports where they happen to be really good? You don't have any room to talk to anyone else, because you're 100% bandwagon. If for some reason Georgia or Duke stopped being good in their sports, you'd be on some other team's johnson.

UNC is 4-4 against one of the toughest schedules in the country, and considering that we went to a bowl game last year against the toughest regular season football schedule in NCAA history, Bunting has done a damn good job. I don't know if we're ever going to be great again in football, but I'm proud of my team and the way they have overcome adversity to become better players. Considering the fact that we just don't get any top football recruits (one area where you can criticize Bunting), the results prove that Bunting is a good coach.

I've hated State 2nd behind UNC. As for the whole Duke and Georgia thing, I've explained it on the hoops thread. I never liked UGA football till I came to school here, and actually like Duke football a lot. Hence the reason why I love Steve Spurrier and go to Georgia. Guarantee you I'm one of the only people who like him hear. I actually don't even hate Florida. I cheer for them when they don't play Georgia. Although mainly cause of Chris Leak and hope he does well. I hope Georgia does really well, but if they lose I'll be mad for about a day. If Duke loses a basketball game, I'm depressed till the next time they play. Since when is it a bad thing to cheer for a team you don't go to school to. If that was the case UNC and Duke would have hardly any fans outside NC, but that's not the case. I love Duke basketball and have been on the basketball threads way longer than the football ones. I've come to realize the only things we agree on are liking the Panthers, hating the Bobcats, and hoping Va. Tech jumps Texas, so lets work on those positives :rotwerd:

Yeah, you have a good explanation for your allegiances, it just seemed extremely fishy. That said, you're still wrong about the SEC and about Bunting. :supergrin

Hey, my roomate is a huge Florida fan, and cheered for Florida on Saturday and sat in the Florida side of the stadium. Maybe it's something about the house I live in.

i wouldnt say that im "happy" about our current status right now. but i am mildly surprised at our ability to compete with teams like a miami when its quite evident that we arent getting the big name recruits like other schools around this region. i would like to see what he could do with some top notch players. would i like to have a big time coach at unc? sure, but realistically, who would want to coach football at a basketball school? thats the tag right? i've even heard the tag of "league doormat" as recently as this season when sports talk radio "experts" referred to unc football. people keep downing unc football and yet they are able to hang with top tier programs while getting "whats left over" after the recruiting wars have been waged. thats all im saying. bunting has got to get a little credit for that.
