what's taking care of business, beating Georgia Tech and Duke, then beating three shitty teams to win the conference tournament? No way in hell a minor feat like that puts you ahead of Florida, Kansas, Ohio State or UCLA.

Terps have won 5 straight, so it's not like they are playing poorly....and beating UNC didn't do much to save NC State's season--noone dipped them in a vat of gold for that.

UNC is good, but no way are they the best team in the country. 8 is about right for them right now. Dukey won't see that because of his "eyewear."

Like someone said, unless UNC implodes in the ACC tourny, they'll probably be a #1 seed, which is all that really matters.

Wisconsin lost an important interior player and will likely lose another game this week - KU is fairly inconsistent, losing to Depaul, Texas Tech and barely beating Oklahoma last night. They'll probably lose to Texas. Texas A&M is pretty decent, but with any luck, they'll lose to Texas too. Memphis is overrated, with exactly one win over a top 25 team.

We'll probably see Ohio State, Florida, UNC and Kansas as #1's unless something ridiculous happens.

The ACC has 6 teams that received AP Top 25 votes (UNC, Duke, Virginia Tech, Maryland, Virginia, Boston College).

It's entirely possible Georgia Tech and FSU gets in. GT has wins against Memphis and Duke, and FSU has beaten Florida, Virginia Tech and Duke. 9 means that Clemson gets in, but they haven't beaten a single ranked team. That might be a stretch.

    Right now, they're a #2 at best.

It's still entirely possible that the Tarheels could not win the regular season championship, and it's a mighty big assumption that they'd win the conference tournament.

A number one seed is only a maybe at best, a 2 or even a 3 seed is more likely at this point.

acc koolaid overload. it's the same shit every year, trying to somehow reason eight or nine teams into the tournament. The ACC deserves no more than six (the ones you listed who got AP votes). The rule of thumb for the ACC should be: you have a winning conference record, you're in; you have a losing conference record, you're not.

This was a good thing for Carolina. They needed to be brought down a notch before tourney time. Now Williams will work their asses off before the big dance!

I didn't think they dropped far enough after the loss to State. What was it, one spot from 4th - 5th? I know other teams up front had lost too, but State wasn't even on the radar. UNC shouldn't have stayed in the top 5 at all. I feel lucky that they're still in the top 10 now.
