He CAN pull for whoever he wants, it just makes him a dickhead. That is my opinion.

That said, if you were in high school and people were wearing shit for other high schools and cheering on other high schools over yours, how would it make you feel? Especially if you play a high school sport? Sure, there is a difference, but it (to me at least) is a more appropriate comparison than college to pro.

If you don't take pride in your university, that's fine, it's just sad that people take more pride in another university over their own.

 

I don't think I've ever heard this argument from a UNC alum. So many folks from so many schools transfer in, it must have not been an issue.

 

Oh, so if a student at Chapel Hill was wearing Duke gear, you don't think the students would be upset?

I can tell you that's not true, because I have seen first hand shit get started over stuff like that. My best friend goes to Chapel HIll, and I have even gotten shit during basketball season walking across their campus wearing Charlotte 49ers gear.

 

Apparently, I belonged to a generation that wasn't so fucking tribal and ignorant. Maybe, it's just me.

 

I don't think he has ever said he doesn't take pride in UNCC? I don't think he has ever said a bad word, or that I know of about UNCC, now for some of their alumni/students that post on here that could be different.

As for the high school comparison, that's really hard to compare, for the most part people have never heard of such and such high school, so that would be a very local type thing.

I don't really know how Brain started pulling for UNC and to me it doesn't really matter, he was here when UNC sucked, here when they won it all and everywhere in between.

Most people pull for schools, they either went to, grew up in the area or have some type of connection to them in some way.

It just so comical that so many on here, namely sly and 49ers are trying to put some type of stipulation as to who you can pull for and it doesn't count if you don't meet them.

 

Man, I have lived there, been on that campus 1000's of times and have seen students/people wearing other schools clothing all the time, it's not that big a deal. Sure there are times when you may get your ass beat by some dumb fucking students who think as a lot on here do, but that is just dumb.

A ton of students have transferred from other schools to go there and wear the shit of where they came from.

 

I'm not trying to tell you who to pull for. I simply don't respect you for it.

 

yeah, vp, comeon, layoff hard harry's back. i mean he did create charlotte on a video game and all. that obviously means he's a true fan. i usually don't refer to "we" when i talk about sports teams because last time i checked, i haven't played for duke or the panthers.
