So who do you pull for when UT plays UNCC?

 

Met? Around 1500 or so. I think that's how many tickets you guys sold to the ToC in Charlotte. BTW, Georgia State, when they were here, bought more tickets than UNCC did in their years.

I've also shot the ESPN headshots for your team 3 of the last 4 years. Had lunch with Coach Lutz, bummed a Clay Aiken Bobble head for my daughter off your SID, worked way too many games in Halton as a stage manager, camera guy, etc.

Also, it was a joke.

Tennessee played Charlotte twice. First was before I attended UT so i didnt care about them (Charlotte came back from 27 down to win). In the NCAA game in 2001 I rooted for Charlotte. Undergrad over grad school. It was a tough decision and a no win for me, but Ron Slay said something really stupid about Rodney White, and that sealed the deal. I don't like punkasses on my teams and Slay was one.

Oh, and Rodney absolutely punked him in the game. Allen Iversoned! followed by a posterization. The video was on Sportsline.com for a couple of years as one of that year's tourney highlights.

Ahh yes, the infamous TOC. The tournament that we were not invited back to once our contract ran out because we won it. Ole Deano was panicked that he mighta ctually have to play us. He dodged that bullet - another one that he let Gut take for him. Good guy that Gut. As loyal as a secret service agent, and capable of taking a fall like a champ.

The Duke bubbas suck just as bad, including Fatseed on that godawful radio show. He's a towering example of a bubba, and I'd daresay that real Dukies are embarassed of him.

There just aren't as many Dukie bubbas as there are Tarhole bubbas. Or Vol bubbas. Must be all that godawful tacky powder blue and pale orange. Anything that ends up on the clearance rack due to its absolute ugliness is prime game for a bubba's wardrobe. Ask Vince McMahon, he's made millions tapping that market. I'm sure he knows the demos.
