Honestly, you sound like half the freshmen I knew on campus. 75% of them wized up before they even graduated.

Dude, I agree. As a general rule, the folks that actually attended the school they root for are much more "civil" about it, well, except for sly and 60% of Niner fans I've ever met.

 

How many Niner fans have you actually met Vito? You haven't met me.

There is absolutely nothing ridiculous about expecting someone to have the stones to own up to who and what they are and be proud of it. I am a grad of two institutions that are not on par with Harvard for academics or with UK or KU for basketball. So be it. I could be some kind of cheeseball bandwagon fan and cheer for them or another school ahead of my alma mater (I have family ties to Illinois, for instance), but I'm not ashamed of where I went to school. On the contrary, I'm proud of what they've accomplished, despite the overwhelming majority's desire to see them fail for very immature reasons. That's a consistently humorous life lesson right there.

By and large, I don't have much of a problem with actual Duke or UNC or Wake grads. There are a few pricks, but most of them show a surprisng amount of respect for the programs I follow, and a realistic view of their own. That I can respect. It's the bubbas who act out like CharlotteDude said that drive me crazy, and as a Vol fan, I've had first hand experience with them. They suck. I'm not sure they are worth the clout they bring simply due to their numbers. I've yet to meet one that I genuinely liked.

 

I don't have to worry about that. They don't make inflatable Bonnies, far as I know.

 

So what's the beef with Brain about all of this? He has been a life long tarheel fan, he pulled for them when they were 8-20, so he wasn't a band wagon fan. So he has chosen UNCC for his education, I doubt very seriously that he chose them because of their sports teams, just as somebody shouldn't chose UNC or Duke for the same reason.

He doesn't strike me as the Wal-mart fan type, you know the ones that only pull for the team that is winning that year, probably the same person who was pulling for each team that has won the last 5 tourneys that year at least.


It's just like sly coming up with all his shit about UNC fans and why they can't be avid fans of UNC, unless they did this or that. Well, if that's the case, to my knowledge all of these other dook fans on this board aren't real fans of dook because they don't meet this criteria or that one. I wonder how many of them went to other schools???

 

I'll be coming up with a lot more shit for the next 220 or so days as long as you pricks keep taking the bait. Nothing like fighting for hours and then landing the big one.
