Being transplanted here I don't have a dog in this fight but watch this rivalry for the fun of it (and the amusements of message boards like this one) as this is the best month of the year.

That being said, I find it hard to believe either team will make it to the Final Four. Duke lacks size and shooting consistency and UNC seems to play down to thier opponents and seem to have trouble stepping up and firing on all pistons at the same time. McCants may be the best shooter, but once he gets in a funk, he is useless (see Duke-UNC I). Thought I will say that I'd take May and Felton over any other 1,5 tandem in the NCAA. However teams like Illinois, Kentucky, Kansas, UConn and BC are more consistent at the first 6 positions and one of those will likely stop UNCs run to St. Louis.

Let the flaming and biased homerism begin.

You do know UNC beat 2 of those on your list, so you may want to take those 2 off of it.

True enough but I assume you would argue that UNC is better than Duke and Wake, however both teams beat UNC this year as well. If you think rationally, regular season wins and losses mean little once March rolls around. I just don't think UNC has the mental toughness to beat the teams I listed before. You can tell me I am wrong and call me names, I am just providing a rational, NON-BIASED, opinion ( A belief or conclusion held with confidence but not substantiated by positive knowledge or proof:).

This is what I have been waiting for from this team these last two seasons. Its not so much that they won. Its the fact that they came back in the closing seconds against Duke. And make no mistake about it, coach K is the master of controlling the last, precious minutes in critical games. He has built a dynasty winning these types of games. I dont care what anybody says, it gets in your head. The players know this too. I could see the Carolina players wilting at one point in the second half and I thought they were done. But they came back. They proved that they were worthy of the expectations laid upon them. Stealing a win from Duke in THIS series says alot.....and this is still one of the greatest rivalries in ALL of sports. Lets not give up Duke for dead either. They will have something to prove after this and I would not want to face them in the ACC tourny or the Big Dance. But we may just see them once again.

    Big win today. :woot:

    GO HEELS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The home teams won those games which is what happens most of the time when they are good teams, so that argument doesn't really hold. If their mental toughness was such a problem, then I don't see how they won all these games playing one of the toughest schedules in the land and are in sole possesion of first place in the ACC.

Hey I don't have to call you names or say your wrong, just look at the standings.

Who do you pull for again?

No biased homerism here, but to be honest this is Duke/Carolina. Its different, knees shake, hands tremble and butterflies try to come up through your wind pipe. Things happen in these games that leave even the most seasoned fans scratching their heads. Its true that Carolina has trouble in this type of game, a big time game. But they just may have slain some dragons today. Only time will tell. Duke/Carolina has very few peers when it comes to their history and the rivalry keeps living up to its storied tradition. You can throw the records away, forget the norm, it aint gonna happen.

Non-biased? so you're a fan of NOBODY in the NCAA? Gotcha.

You're obviously a fan of a team that's not in the ACC. That's my opinion. :D

Rationally is the key here. This IS the ACC we're talking about. Heed your own advice.

I'd rather lose to Santa Clara than Carolina.
