I had a vendor come in my office today who is a big unc homer. There are homers, and there are clueless homers, and this guy is the ultimate clueless homer. I doubt he could find Chapel Hill if there were arrows painted on the street. Anyway, he was explaining to me the scenario of how the heels are still going to make it into the NCAA Tournament. I just let him talk. I think it was actually therapeutic for him.

Ol' Roy has some work to do.

 

sadly, if they can figure out a way to win just a few more games, they'll make it in and get even more embarrassed in the first or second round.

 

UNC will get invited, as long as they finish no worse than 7-9 in conference.
It'd be hard to justify a 6-10 team getting a invite, no matter what the jersey says.

 

7-9 is possible. They would have to win at Va. Tech tonite, NC State(home), @ BC, FSU(home) & Miami (home). Lose any of those games & it won't be possible. I don't see them beating Duke, or winning at Maryland, Tech, or Wake. February is the month you either play your way in the tourney or out of it. Regardless, I can't remember a Roy Williams team ever looking this badly prepared. He's venturing into Matt Doherty territory right now. Even when Dean Smith didn't have the most talented team on the floor, you still expected UNC to play under control, & over-achieve.

 

refs tried to give it to UNC, but they still couldn't win it.

 

Teams like Virginia Tech used to always storm the court when beating the heels. When the final buzzer sounded, it was so anticlimatic...almost like the Hokies were expected to win.

That tells you how much Carolina has fallen off this season.
