    Chris Wright gets more of the buzz, but 6-6 soph forward Chris Johnson is a potential NBA'er also. He needs to improve his shot, but he will likely be on the draftboard his senior year. Certainly not Lawal and Favors, but Dayton is not loaded with scrubs.

    Dayton was preseason top 25, so it is easy to say they have underperformed this season at least to date.

    Wednesday nights home game with Wake is MUST WIN! I really feel the Heels need to win the next 5 (3 are on the road) before playing the Blue Devils. A top 5 finish in the ACC pretty much means this stretch is crucial. Wake hung with Duke at Cameron for a half. Won't be easy.

    let it go karl

    i once had this puppy who would take off out into the road regardless of my pleas to stop. i kept hoping, waiting, working with this poor creature, that someday, somehow, the light would come on its his dense little brain. "today will be the day", i kept telling myself. "we'll turn this thing around".

    alas, it was all for naught as he proceeded to dart out in front of a '65 Galaxy 500 and his head smacked the rear axle. i dropped my nutty buddy in the gravels.

    game over

    its the same with this group. let them run out into the road. pick a spot in the back yard where you want to dig the hole.

    the end :sad nanner:

    I know what you mean. I once had a cat that did the same thing. He kept running across the highway & dodging cars & I just knew he was going to end up spattered one day in front of the house. 16 years later I had to put him to sleep for kidney failure. He survived a long time. That was a good cat. Getting back to the Heels, I concede now that UNC is over-rated (#24 now?), & this is going to be a down year. Heck, I think the whole ACC is having a down year (except Duke). I'm thinking the conference will get 5 bids into the big dance. (6 if there is some brown-nosing going on). So UNC needs to finish in the top 5. I still believe that UNC can finish ahead of BC, Va. Tech, State, Virginia, Wake, & Miami. That puts them at #6. They can get #5 if they can beat out FSU also. Losing to Wake tonite at home sorta puts them no better than 6 at the end. (NIT territory). Regardless of whose hurt, & the talent level, I have expected Roy to do a little coaching along the way. So far, I'm not impressed with the results.

    Some groups just aren't coachable, some players get it, some get it right away, some too late, and some never do. And until they all get it the team as a rule suffers.

    Not sure what the hell is wrong with this bunch. I kind of like Drew but a big part of the blame falls back on his shoulders. A crappy point guard means everybody, even your talent down low doesn't get the ball when and where they are supposed to. Imagine this exact team with Lawson running the point instead of Drew. The difference would be night and day.

    And forget the actual turnovers, but I am still amazed watching this team and noting how many "almost" turnovers they have. Lazy passes, fumbled passes, missed dribbles, players catching the ball and turning the wrong way or being in a bad position to make a good basketball move. Nobody moves towards the ball to make a good passing angle or help out a player. They never get in any offensive rhythm.

    And the shooting! Lord help them but how many airballs or bricks did the Heels shoot from outside last night in the second half? And it’s not like they were awful shots or highly contested. They just bricked shot after shot.

    I know Roy recruited them and he usually knows his stuff but this team is just sorely lacking in both guts and basketball smarts. At this rate I smell a first round loss in the NIT.
